Wednesday WIPs - 02.11.2016

Firstly, for those that were waiting for my Monday Show Report post, I'm sorry, I forgot again, but don't worry, I've included it in today's post.

And now to your regular Wednesday WIPs feature. I have managed to get a bit more done this week, with a but of time spent in waiting rooms and working security in the Craft Pavilion for a few hours, so here are the items that I have worked on this week.

Story Time Blanket
It seems that having two students and being in a section of the blanket that requires a lot of colour changes means that I don't make a lot of progress. I did make some progress so I guess that's a good thing, and I'm helping others learn the craft so that's an even better thing.

Butterfly Square - Side 1
Butterfly Square - Side 2
I did ten rows on this square while doing my first stint of security in the craft pavilion before heading out to showbag alley to pick up some bags of chocolate.

Rose Corner 2 Corner Pixel Square
This method of carrying the yarn instead of cutting it may save of having fewer ends to sew in but it can get very messy with all the strands of yarn getting twisted and tangled.

Moogly CAL - Block 21
Another block finished! I'm still behind but there is a chance that I will be able to catch up this week.

Tunisian Spiral Blanket
A few more colour changes and I nearly at the next corner. I would say that that is good progress.

And now for the show report. I entered 5 items in this year's show and I managed to get a first and a second in the "Tricot, Broomstick, Hairpin" category, and here they are.

Prize winning Beanie and Scarf.
That just happens to be my favourite category to enter as not many other people do. In saying that I should point out that (a) if the judges didn't think the entries were good enough they wouldn't award a prize and (b) mine weren't the  only entries in that category this year.

That's it from me for now. I will try to get my Trauma Teddy finished this week so that I can show it off on Friday, but don't hold your breath. In the meantime, be sure to check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have been working on.

Friday FOs - 22.04.2016

I have been quite productive this week, although Wednesday's post might not have shown it. Here are the items that I have finished this week.

Trauma Teddy #9 for 2016
Trauma Teddy #10 for 2016
Two more Trauma Teddies finished.

Tunisian Bamboo Stitch Beanie
This Beanie can be worn either as a slouch hat or, with the cuff rolled up, as a beanie so is quite versatile. It is my first attempt at Bamboo Stitch and I'm not sure if I got it right or not, but it looks OK to me. It is a bit small for me so I couldn't really model it.

That's it from me for this week. Be sure to check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have made.

Wednesday WIPs - 13.04.2016

Well, the two jackets are now finished so I can now get back to my regular crafting habits, choosing a different project every day. Here are the WIPs that I have worked on this week.

Butterfly Square - side 1
Butterfly Square - side 2
I managed to get another 10 rows done on the latest square while trying to sell at a local market.

Tunisian Bamboo Stitch Beanie
I'm not sure why the bit that I have added this week leans the way it does but it has been a while since I worked on it so that may have something to do with it. I only need to add another inch and I will be able to gather the top and finish it off.

Baby Blanket
Progress on this one is ahrdly notceable but progress has been made.

4 Owls
I made all the feet and started attaching the eyes thinking that I had made all the parts, but when I laid them out for a photo I realised that there was still one part that I have to make. I can make it once I geet the rest all joined so it's no big deal. My biggest problem with these is making sure the parts match up as I have used slightly different colours in each owl.

That's it from me for now. Be sure to check back on Friday to see what I have finished. In the meantime, check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have been working on.

Wednesday WIPs - 23.12.2015

Now that I have finished the bags that were taking up most of my time I can start getting back to normal (if I can ever figure out what normal is). Although, after a visit to our cotton supplier, I now have three more commisioned items to worry about. Here are the objects that I have worked on since last Wednesday.

Moogly CAL Square #23
I finally got around making this square. Just one more square to go before I figure out the layout and join them all together. Technically, I should have finished this CAL a couple of weeks ago but other things got in the way and now I have the heat of summer to contend with. Maybe this can wait a little while longer.

Tunisian Bamboo Stitch Beanie
I know I have my regular waiting room project but I decided to take this with me to work on while I waited for the dentist to take care of my wife's teeth. I got it to 7" and stopped there while I figure out if I'm going to try and shape it or just follow the pattern, continue until it measures 9" and then just gather it all together. Somehow, I think following the instructions in the patter might be easier.

Tunisian Spiral Blanket
I did eventually get this one out and added a few more rows. Not a lot of progress but some anyway.

Jug Cover
This is the first of the commissions that I need to work on. The cotton and the beads all came from the ladt that commissioned these.

That's it from me for now. Hopefully i will have something finished for Friday but I make no promises. In the meantime, check out the links in the sidebar to see what others have been working on.

Wednesday WIPs - 04.11.2015

Because of the time I spent at the show, I have been able to spend a bit more time on the story time blanket this week, but I haven't spent much time on anything else. However, I have started two new projects. Here are my WIPs for this week.

Story Time Blanket
With all the extra time I have spent on this I have made good progress.

Shopping Bag
One of the ladies at church asked me to make three of these so I thought I should get started.

Bamboo Stitch Beanie
This is just something I wanted to start on for next year's show.

I have also worked on the pineapple doily and just have some loose ends to sew in, which I'm hoping to have finished before Friday. Check back on Friday because I'm sure I will have something to show you. In the meantime, check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have been working on.
