Friday FOs - 02.09.2022

I'm trying to get some things finished so that I have something to post about most weeks, especially since I have slowed down on my Bear production. Here is this week's finished object.

A Cotton Beanie to wear under my Santa wig.

The view of the bank of my head wearing the beanie.

I decided to make this because the wig I have to wear while dressed up as Santa irritates my scalp.

That's all I have for this week. Until next time, have a good one.

Richard.

Friday FOs - 10.08.2018

Here I am again with my finished objects. I have another three of mine to show you plus one from my ex-wife's needles.

Comfort Bear #32 for 2018
My first finished item is another bear.

A White Sheep
This sheep represents all the non-coloured sheep mentioned in the book "Where is the Green Sheep".

Octopus #10
Another octopus for a preemie baby.

A Child's Beanie
Fresh off my ex-wife's knitting needles, this child's beanie was still too big for my toy bear ...

A Bear wearing a Child's Beanie
... but that didn't stop me from taking this photo.

That's it from me for this week. Until next time, have a good one.

Friday FOs - 25.05.2018

After taking a photo of my finished objects last week I then forgot to post them so I have two weeks of finishes for you this week. This week I managed to finish 5 items thanks to time spent collecting for the Red Sheild Appeal. Here are all my finished objects for the last tow weeks.

Comfort Bear #20 for 2018
Another sparky bear, this time the sparkles actually show up in the photo.

Beanie in Collingwood Colours

Beanie in Collingwood Colours dispayed on a head.

This is my third attempt at getting this beanie the right size.

That's last week's finished objects, now for this week's.

The first of three Plastic Bag Holders
The second of three Plastic Bag Holders
The third of three Plastic Bag Holders
These plastic bag holders may become obsolete in the next month or so as the big supermarkets phase out plastic bags but I figure I had sold a few and needed to replace them so I have.

Comfort Bear #21 for 2018
I have gone back to standard colour combinations for this week's comfort bear.

Dishcloth #2 side 1
Dishcloth #2 side 2
For the second dishcloth that I have made for Springdale Community Centre I have gone for a Crochetknit version which gives a double sided effect.

That's it for now, until next time, have a good one, and if you see someone collecting for charity, please give generously, especially if it's for the Salvation Army.

Wednesday WIPs - 25.04.2018

I have a night off from my usual activities due to it being a public holiday ao I thought I would show a couple of the things that I have worked on this week.

Knitted Beanie in Collingwood Colours
The person I have been making these for has informed me that the first is too big so I've gone done a couple of sizes in needled and making this one a bit smaller. I haven't been able to give the second beanie to her yet so I don't know if it's going to be too big or not. I may have to make another ofter I finish this one.

Tunisian Spiral Blanket
I had quite a bit of time in a  waiting room so I made good progress on this one. It's close to being big enough now, so when I get to the next corner I will be changing to black for the last time around.

That's all for now. I should be back on Friday with at least one FO. Until then, have a good one.

Friday FOs - 13.04.2018

I have had  a reasonably productive week this week and have finished several items. Here they are in the order that they were finished.

Comfort Bear #15 for 2018
Another comfort bear finished.

Beanie in Collingwood Colours
The second of two beanies is finished. I don't think the person that commissioned me to make these will be expecting this one so early but I like to finish those things that I have been paid for as soon as possible.

Two Cup Teapot Cosy - Top view
Two Cup Teapot Cosy - side view.
When I checked my ToDo list I found that Teapot Cosies were at the top of the list and I had previously had a request for Two Cup Teapot Cosies so I figured that I would start with those.

Graduation Owl - Front View
Graduation Owl - Side view
I have had four of these waiting to be finished for quite a while now so it's probably about time I did something with them.

That's all I have for this week. I hope to have more finished for next week. Until next time, have a good one.

Friday FOs - 30.03.2018

It's time to show off my finished objects for this week, and here they are.

Comfort Bear #13
Another Bear has been finished.

Beanie in Collingwood Colours
This is the first of two beanies that I have been commissined to make.

Beanie in Collingwood Colours on my head.
I aleays think that beanies should be seen on a head to get the best idea of fit and shape. This one turned out a little larger than expected so I hope it fits its intended recipient.

That's it from me for this week. Until next time, have a good one.

Wednesday WIPs - 14.03.2018

I figured it was about time that I showed everybody some of the other things that I have been working on. Here are the WIPs that I have worked on this week.

Tunisian Spiral Blanket
I have spent some time waiting while a friend takes his driving test so this has been taken out of the bag. I have turned the last corner before I switch to black for a frame.

Shopping Bag with Pouch
This is the second of two shopping bags that I have been commissioned to make.

Beanie in Black and White (Collingwood Colours)
This is the first of two beanies that I have been commissioned to make.

Story Time Blanket
I have been making more progress on this in the last few weeks. I'm still quite a way off completing it.

That's it from me for now. If I remember I will post the finished objects from the last three weeks on Friday.

Until next time, have a good one.

Friday FOs - 02.02.2018

I managed to get photos of all my finished objects this week. I wasn't sure how I was going to do it but I have succeeded. So, without further ado, here they are.

Beanie
Mine was the only suitable head to display this on and my sister obliged in taking the photo. I wasn't really expecting to get this one finished so quickly as I'm usually quite a slow knitter.

Appliques
16 appliques all completed. I haven't sewn in any of the ends but I think the lady I have made these for can take care of them when she sews then on to the table covers that they have been made for so I am calling them finished.

Comfort Bear #5 for 2018
Another comfort bear finished and ready for service.

That's it from me for this week. I will be back home soon and everything will return to normal (whatever normal is).

Until next time, have a good one.

Richard.

Wednesday WIPs - 24.01.2018

It's time to show everyone what I have been working on this week. Here are my WIPs.

Appliques
Finished another Angel this week. One more and the set will be complete.

Knitted Beanie
I have started shaping the top on this one. I have about 8 more rows to go.

Comfort Bear
I wouldn't normally incude this one in my WIPs but I don't know if I will be able to finish it as I will be travelling tomorrow and I don't know what time I will have on Friday. I'm also not sure if I will be able to post on Friday even if I do get this finished.

That's all I have for today. Until next time, have a good one.

Richard.

WIP Wednesday - 17.01.2018

Well, I managed to forget to post my FO on Friday, but I managed to remember to take photos of my WIPs today, so you get to see them at least. Here they are.

Knitted Beanie
I have made noticeable progress on this one, and now that I have added in the changes in colour, it's very easy to see.

Appliques
I managed to finish a couple of angels.

Tunisian Spiral Blanket
I even managed to make a couple of colour changes on this one.

That's it from me for now. Hopefully I will remember to post my FOs on Friday. Until then, have a good one.

Richard.

Wednesday WIPs - 10.01.2018

Another Wednesday and time to show what I have been working on this week. I have worked on three of my projects this week. Here are two of them.

Appliques
I finished the fourth heart and started on an angel. It doesn't look much yet but it will take shape over the next couple of days.

Knitted Beanie
One of the guys in church asked me to make him this one. It's not going to be all black, but starting in black definetely made the first few rows quite difficult.

That's it from me for now. Check back on Friday to see what the third item is.

Richard.

Wednesday WIPs - 02.11.2016

Firstly, for those that were waiting for my Monday Show Report post, I'm sorry, I forgot again, but don't worry, I've included it in today's post.

And now to your regular Wednesday WIPs feature. I have managed to get a bit more done this week, with a but of time spent in waiting rooms and working security in the Craft Pavilion for a few hours, so here are the items that I have worked on this week.

Story Time Blanket
It seems that having two students and being in a section of the blanket that requires a lot of colour changes means that I don't make a lot of progress. I did make some progress so I guess that's a good thing, and I'm helping others learn the craft so that's an even better thing.

Butterfly Square - Side 1
Butterfly Square - Side 2
I did ten rows on this square while doing my first stint of security in the craft pavilion before heading out to showbag alley to pick up some bags of chocolate.

Rose Corner 2 Corner Pixel Square
This method of carrying the yarn instead of cutting it may save of having fewer ends to sew in but it can get very messy with all the strands of yarn getting twisted and tangled.

Moogly CAL - Block 21
Another block finished! I'm still behind but there is a chance that I will be able to catch up this week.

Tunisian Spiral Blanket
A few more colour changes and I nearly at the next corner. I would say that that is good progress.

And now for the show report. I entered 5 items in this year's show and I managed to get a first and a second in the "Tricot, Broomstick, Hairpin" category, and here they are.

Prize winning Beanie and Scarf.
That just happens to be my favourite category to enter as not many other people do. In saying that I should point out that (a) if the judges didn't think the entries were good enough they wouldn't award a prize and (b) mine weren't the  only entries in that category this year.

That's it from me for now. I will try to get my Trauma Teddy finished this week so that I can show it off on Friday, but don't hold your breath. In the meantime, be sure to check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have been working on.

Richard.
