Another week has finished and time to look back at what I achieved.
This week wasn't really anything out of the ordinary, if anything, it became a little more ordinary with crochet class starting back up yesterday morning. Unfortunately, there don't seem to be many takers. One lady turned up at about noon and says she wants to learn but won't join the class until after her Tai Chi class which give us half an hour each Friday. I'm not sure how much I can teach in half an hour, but I guess I'm going to find out.
Today was market day in Myrtleford and the weather forecast didn't look too good, but when I checked the radar (at 5:30 this morning) it looked pretty clear so I figured I would risk it, and I'm glad I did. The weather was great and, at one stage, I was in danger of getting sunburnt. So much for storms. Sales were quite good also, with $62.00 worth of goods sold. It paid for a full tank of petrol at least.
This afternoon was spent sitting in front of the TV catching up on some of the sleep I missed out on by getting up at 5:00am.
On the crafting front, I've been working steadily on the Daffodil Teacloth and the Men's Afghan Stitch Gloves but other stuff had to wait a bit. Yesterday, at crochet class, I managed to work on the Toddler's Jacket and Crochenit Cot Blanket (when you have the opportunity to work in air conditioned comfort you might as well take it) and today I managed to a bit more on the second sleeve of my hoodie, the Toddler's Jacket and the Crochenit Cot Blanket (might as well do something while waiting for customers) so you can expect a few more photos on Wednesday.
Now all I have to do is find some small project I can work on that I can have finished for next Friday.

FO Friday 10-02-2012
I have been quite busy with a couple of my larger projects, mainly the Daffodil Teacloth and the gloves, but that doesn't mean that I haven't found time to finish something, so here are this weeks FOs.
Yes, more hanging towels, this time made from tea towels. They are a lighter towels than the hand towels but they have attractive pictures on them. I think I have enough towels now so should have something different to show you next week.

WIP Wednesday 08-02-2012
Only a few items got worked on this week but those that did had quite a bit of progress. My main project this week has been the Daffodil Teacloth.
And when my eyes got tired of focusing on #40 cotton, I did a bit of work on my first glove.
That's the palm side of the right hand glove finished. Time to get started on the back of the hand.
In between working on these two I was making up some hanging towels, but since I finished them and wanted something else to work on, I added a few more rows to the slanted scarf.
Next week is going to be a little different and I'm not entirely sure how much time I'm going to be able to spend crocheting or knitting as I will be at college. Maybe I will be able to work on something during my lunch break. On the other hand, crochet class starts up again on Friday (college is only Monday to Thursday so I can still teach on Fridays) so I'm sure I will be able to work on something. There are also craft markets starting up again and I have 3 this month so I should be able to work on a few projects at those, unless I'm run off my feet serving customers (that would be a real change).
As usual, there are more WIPs to see over on Tami's Amis and Ginny's Yarn Along.

Psalm 139
No need to tell you what the reading was this morning. Here are the note from youversion.
Psalm 139 is a Psalm about God. Verses 1-6: He is all knowing (omniscient). He knows everything about us. Verses 7-12: He is ever present (omnipresent). We are surrounded by His presence - this is not a scare tactic but a comfort. Verses 13-16: He created us. The development of a baby in the first trimester of pregnancy is amazing. By 12 weeks at just 5cms long a baby is fully formed. We are fearfully and wonderfully made. What will your response be to the all knowing, ever present Creator God who lovingly knit you together?
And now for my notes.
Hand made gifts are special, made with love. We are handmade! (see the first couple of chapters of Genesis) Everything else was spoken into existence, only man and woman were made by hand.
There is nowhere we can go to get away from God. He is not necessarily there to keep us in line or catch us out, He is there because He created us and loves us.
I am fearfully and wonderfully made, and so are you!

The Week That Was 04-02-2012
This week hasn't been a particularly good week for me. Although it has been cooler progress on my projects has been quite slow and only 2 towels finished. Even with the couple of hours I spent at the community centre in air conditioned comfort didn't seem to make much of a dent.
On Wednesday evening we went bowling as usual and, while Sue bowled quite well, I bowled very poorly. I just couldn't seem to get a good line into the pocket and was either leaving splits, 7 pins (I'm bowling left handed so that is the worst pin on the deck for me) or other awkward leaves and just left too many frames open and no where near enough strikes to make up for them. Maybe I'll do better next week.
To top off this bad week, my gout decided to flare up again. If you have never had gout, it's hard to describe the pain, but it's something akin to a broken bone, in my case, my big toe. The anti-inflammatories seem to starting to do their job so maybe I'll be able to walk tomorrow.
On a more positive note, I went to share breakfast with some of the other men from church this morning and my CO pulled me aside to show me what was now hanging in the foyer. My Salvation Army Crest Blanket has been frame and hung for all to see. In some ways I think I could do better with this, but since it was my first effort working with 2 colours I am quite pleased with it, even if the sides aren't straight and the edging doesn't sit flat. I may have been able to fix that with blocking but I don't have the right tools, and the CO seems to like it anyway. I guess I'll be able to get everyone else's reaction tomorrow.
That's it from me for this week, sorry if I sounded a bit whingy at the start, here's hoping next week will be better.

FO Friday 03-02-2012
Things seem to be slowing down on the crafting front of late and it kinda shows with my FOs. I mean, 2 weeks ago I had 5 towels finished, last week I managed to finish 3 towels, and this week I've I managed to finish ...
If this decline keeps going much longer I'll have another Friday where I have nothing finished! It will also take me a while to finish all the towels and get onto something more interesting.
Ah well, I'm sure there is plenty to look at over on Tami's Amis.

WIP Wednesday 01-02-2012
Well, it has been quite a busy week this week with some of my regular activities starting back up after the summer holiday period. Craft and Cuppa started back a couple of weeks ago and we had our second session of the year today as this is a once a fortnight activity. Unfortunately, this may be my last craft and Cuppa for a while as I will be at college in a couple of weeks. I just have to wait and see what my time-table looks like.
On Monday we had an orientation morning at the community centre where I teach crochet so I took all my projects with me to show everyone what I could teach them to do and took advantage of the air conditioned surrounds to do a little work on things that I have difficulty in working on at home.
So, progress has been made on ...
... and ...
... as well as ...
... and ...
I have no idea why the colours on this one didn't come out right. The background should be the same blue as all the other pictures which were all taken in the same light. The purples don't quite look as purple as they should and the pinks look a little too pink. Maybe one day I'll figure this out and take perfect pictures every time, or maybe I'll get a new camera.
One item that is progressing a little slower than desired is the pair of men's gloves.
Most of the other people in the TCAL are already onto the fingers and I haven't even got up to the thumb.
Most of my progress has been on the Daffodil Teacloth with the second segment being finished and attached to the first and the third segment started.
Of course, since I can't concentrate on this fine cotton for long periods, I have still managed to complete a couple of items, so come back on Friday if you want to see them.
I'm also debating whether I will join another CAL. Planetjune is having a plant-a-long for February and I'm quite interested in making some of these.
