Friday FOs - 18.11.2022

I've been a bit slack posting my photos here so I thought it was about time I got caught up.

Comfort Bear No 10 for this year

I finished this one about 6 weeks ago.

Comfort Bear No 11 for this year

This one was finished 3 weeks ago.

Cuddle Bunny

This was finished this week and will be for sale at a craft fair tomorrow.

Wash Cloth side 1

Wash Cloth side 2

This Wash cloth, done in double ended tunisian crochet, will also be for sale tomorrow.

Wash Cloth

Another Wash cloth, done in linen stitch, to be put up for sale tomorrow.

That's all I have for now. Until next time, have a good one.

Friday FOs - 30.09.2022

My crochet progress has been quite slow lately, mainly because I have been busy moving out of the house into the caravan. It has been quite a difficult task trying to fit so much stuff into such a small space. My yarn collection alone has been problematic. I have managed to finish a few objects but didn't manage to take photos of all of them. I forgot about the Bear I finished this week so it will have to wait until later.

Here are my other finished objects.

A Grey Bunny

The Arts, Crafts and Activities Group that I'm part of is having a craft fair in November and asked me if I had anything to sell. Unfortunately, I have away all my stock as I haven't been to markets since covid lockdown started even though the restrictions have been lifted for some time. This bunny will be added to the items that somehow didn't get given away and all will be for sale at the great fair.

Wash Cloth

I figured I could make some of these and offer them for sale at the craft fair also. If I don't sell them I can make use of them myself.

I'll try to find the Bear and photograph it before next Friday.

That's all from me for now. Until next time, have a good one.

Richard.

Friday FOs - 02.09.2022

I'm trying to get some things finished so that I have something to post about most weeks, especially since I have slowed down on my Bear production. Here is this week's finished object.

A Cotton Beanie to wear under my Santa wig.

The view of the bank of my head wearing the beanie.

I decided to make this because the wig I have to wear while dressed up as Santa irritates my scalp.

That's all I have for this week. Until next time, have a good one.

Friday FOs - 19.08.2022

It has been a while since I last posted anything and I have been busy and have completed a few things since then. It hasn't been the one Bear a week that I have managed to finish in previous years but I do have 3 bears finished and one blanket, and here they are.

Comfort Bear No 7 for this year.

Comfort Bear No 8 for this year.

These bears have been finished for a while. It has been so long that I have forgotten when they were finished.

Blanket No 2 from knitted rectangles.

It has taken a while but I finally managed to finish the second of 2 blankets that I have been making by joining some knitted rectangles that were found in bags of donated yarn. I will be donating both blankets back to the Salvation Army.

Comfort Bear No 9 for this year.

This Bear was finished this week. It has been slow going but I'll keep working on these until I can't do it any more.

That's all I have for you for now. Until next time, have a good one.

Richard.

Friday FOs - 20.05.2022

My completion rate seems to be a bit low at the moment but I have managed to finish something this week, and it's not a Bear. Here it is.

Drink bottle cosy with strap

One of the ladies in the art class saw mine and asked if I could make her one. It took me a couple of weeks and a little more than one ball of cotton.

That's all I have for this week. Until next time, have a good one.

Friday FOs - 06.05.2022

I haven't finished anything for a while and I'm having trouble finding the time to post my WIPs on Wednesdays but I have been working. Here is my latest finished object.

Comfort Bear No 6 for this year.

I have had quite a bit of trouble with this Bear. I'm using yarn that was donated to the church and I keep running into problems. I started using a ball of grey that I thought was enough to do the bear's pants and found that two different yarns had been wound into one ball and the second yarn was not only a different shade it was also a different ply and unsuitable for making bears so I had to start again. The I found that there wasn't enough of the blue to do both the body and the arms so I undid most of it and worked in red stripes. I'm just glad to have it finished so I can start on the next one.

That's all I have for this week. Until next time, have a good one.

Friday FOs - 18.03.2022

I didn't have anything finished to show off last week but I do have something this week, and here it is.

Comfort Bear No 5 for this year.

I'm well behind the one per week that I've made in other years but I'm comfortable with my progress this year.

That's all I have for you this week. Until next time, have a good one.

Friday FOs - 04.03.2022

Apart from squares for my queen bed blanket, I have been working on other things, like this Comfort Bear, which is my finished object for this week.

Comfort Bear No 4 for this year

This is the knitted version that was to be used to show my students that these could be knitted or crocheted. I think I cast on too many stitches and didn't knit enough rows as it turned out quite short and fat.

That's all from me for this week. Until next time, have a good one.

Wednesday WIPs - 02.03.2022

I think I'm starting to catch up with the squares for the TCAL. I managed to start square 4 before I received the pattern for square 5. Here is the finished square 3 and the start of square 4.

Square 3 of the KnitterKnotter Hangout TCAL

I extended the pattern by 8 rounds because the pattern was written for worsted weight yarn and in using double knit. This is the 4th square for my queen bed blanket.

Square 4 of the KnitterKnotter Hangout TCAL

Not much to see here yet. I hope to have it finished for next week.

That's it from me for now. Until next time, have a good one.

Friday FOs - 25.02.2022

This week I managed to finish one of the bears that I started a few weeks ago in preparation for the workshop that I was running. Here it is.

Comfort Bear No 3 for this year

I was a little surprised to find that I had only made 2 of these before this week. I'm definitely not going to be making one per week this year.

That's all from me for this week. Until next time, have a good one.

Richard.

Wednesday WIPs - 23.02.2022

I have made some more progress on the TCAL squares that I'm going to use for my queen bed blanket. I finished square no 2 ambrose stayed on square no 3 and am now 2 weeks behind. I'm sure I'll catch up now that I'm over covid.

Here are my squares.

TCAL Square No 2

I decided that once the centre pattern was square I would just fish the frame ambrose call it done.
TCAL Square No 3

This is my first time doing a Tunisian square in the round and I had some trouble with the start but once I got going it was relatively easy to keep track of the corners and the stitch count although I did have to undo a couple of rounds because I didn't have enough stitches on one side.

That's it from me for now.

Richard.

Friday FOs - 18.02.2022

After a few weeks with no finished objects, partly because of covid acme partly because I was making preparations for a workshop that I was running, I finally have something to show you, and here it is.

Blanket

This blanket is made from knitted rectangles that were donated to the Salvation Army along with a load of yarn. All I've done is crochet them together.

That's it from me for this week. Until next time, have a good one.

Richard.

Wednesday WIPs - 09.02.2022

Well, if has been a couple of weeks since I last posted anything. I haven't finished anything and haberdashery struggled to work on anything for the l last week or so. In fact, today is the first day in a week that I have felt like doing anything other than sleep. This has been due too a little thing called covid. I still have to isolate until Saturday but it looks like I might be able to be a bit more productive.

Here are the things I have been working on (or at least trying to work on) during the last 2 weeks.

Tunisian CAL 2022 Square No 2

This is my attempt at the second square in this year's TCAL

Knitted Square for a Comfort Bear

A knitted version of the square I crocheted a couple of weeks ago. I'm hoping to use this square and the crocheted one as part of a workshop that I will be running at a local community centre teaching people how to make comfort bears.

That's about it from me for now. I don't expect to have anything finished this week. Until next time, have a good one.

Richard.

Friday FOs - 28.01.2022

As promised on Wednesday, I have a finished object to show off and it isn't a bear. Here it is.

A Produce Bag

These take far too long to make and I won't be making any more.

That's it from me for now. I will try to update you on my WIPs next Wednesday. Until next time, have a good one.

Richard.

Wednesday WIPs - 26.01.2022

Just thought I would update everyone on the status of a couple of my WIPs.

Square No 2 for queen bed blanket

While this isn't the second square of the TCAL (I haven't started that one yet) it is the second square I'm making as I need more squares than the TCAL will provide.

Comfort Bear

This may not look much like a Comfort Bear but it will do when it is stitched up. I won't be finishing this one this week as I want to use this for a workshop that I hope to be teaching next month. I want to show how to make the bear from 3 squares and will be completing the other 2 squares later this week. I also plan on doing a knitted version for those that prefer to knit. If we get enough interest, the workshop will be run at a local community centre.

That's it for now. I do have a finished object for Friday if I remember to post it.  Until next time, have a good one.

Richard.

Friday finishes - 21.01.2022

Hello everyone, it has been a bit of a slow start to the year. It has taken me 3 weeks to get my first objects finished this year but I finial have something to show you, and here they are.

Comfort Bear No 1 for this year

Comfort Bear No 2 for this year

My first two bears for this year. I started the first one last week but didn't get it finished in time to post a photo last Friday. With the second, I had intended to do the striping in the arms but I was having trouble with the yarn. It was in short lengths. I think the moths had got to it.

That's it for this week. Until next time, have a good one.

Richard.

Monday, January 17, 2022

Monday Mayhem 17.01.2022 - 2021, the year that was.

Hi all, I almost forgot to post this again. I would normally do this on the first Monday of the year so I'm a little late.

Firstly, here is a list of the projects that I completed last year.

43 Comfort Bears (a little short of the one a week that I usurping try to make).

3 blankets (knee rug size)

2 bunnies

2 bags

1 produce bag

1 drink bottles cosy

1 dog coat

That list is a bit smaller than other years but it has been a bit of a different year.

I currently have a few projects that I'm working on. They include 2 queen bed size blankets, a cot blanket and a bunny as well as Comfort bears.

Normally I would give you my to-do list but I have scrapped it. I have decided to close my shop and don't need to make anything more for it at this time. I will be trying to sell everything on Facebook so check my pottage over there if you want something that I've made.

The other thing I usually tell at this time are my targets for the new year (Idon't make resolutions). They are to finish the year with no more projects than I started with (something that I have failed to do most years) and to lose weight (something I have managed to do the last few years, I'm currently 117.2kg).

That's it for now. Until next time, have a good one.

Richard.

Wednesday WIPs - 11.01.2022

I've not really made a good start to the year, I haven't done my wrap up for last year yet and haven't completed anything but I have started something.

2022 TCAL Square No 1

I started a Tunisian Crochet ALong that I found on Facebook and this is the first square. The TCAL will have 25 different squares but I will be doing extras as I want to make another blanket for my queen sized bed.

I still intend to do a wrap up of last year's finished objects and give details of my plans for this year (I don't make resolutions) and hope to have that posted on Monday.

That's all from me for now. Until next time, have a good one.

Richard.
