Friday FOs - 31.12.2021

Well, it's the last Friday of the yearand I have a finished object to show off. It has taken a few weeks because I was playing Santa Claus for a while but I managed to finish a bear that I started at the end of November, and here it is.

Comfort Bear No 43 for this year.

This is my last Bear for 2021 and the last that will go to the doctor's surgery. My CO has asked me to make them and give them to her so that she can send them overseas. I will be using donated yarn and stuffing from pillows so all they will cost me is time.

I will try and post a summary of all the things I have completed this year and the projects I have yet to complete on Monday.

That's it from me for this year. Until next time, have a good one.

Richard.

Friday FOs - 19.11.2021

I have managed to finish another bear this week and here it is.

Comfort Bear No 42 for this year

I don't expect to be making many more of these this year as I will be working for the next 4 weeks.

That's all I have for you for now. Until next time, have a good one.

Richard.

Friday FOs - 12.11.2021

We have come to the end of another week and it is time, once again, to show off my finished object, and here it is.

Comfort Bear No 41 for this year

Another Comfort Bear ready for service. I have a bag full now so I will need to deliver them soon.

I had hoped to have a blanket finished today but only got the crochet done. I still need to sew in all the ends before I can call it done, so it should be ready for next week.

That's all I have for you for now. Until next time, have a good one.

Richard.

Friday FOs - 05.11.2021

After forgetting to post my finished object here a couple of weeks ago and not finishing anything last week, there are a few items I would like to show you this week.

I will start with the object I finished two weeks ago which is ...

Comfort Bear No 39 for this year.

Another Comfort Bear ready for service.

These two objects were finished this week.

Snuggle Bunny

I made one of these for a lady at church a little while ago and her cleaner saw it and requested one of her own. I was given two weeks to make it and that is one of the reasons I didn't finish a Bear last week. The other reason is an appointment that prevented me from spending the time on Thursday afternoon crocheting as I would normally.

Comfort Bear No 40 for this year

I started this Bear last week and only managed to finish it yesterday.

That's all I have for you for now. Until next time, have a good one.

Richard.

Comfort Bear No 38 for this year

This Bear will be added to the collection ready to be delivered to one of the local medical clinics at some time in the future.

That's all I have for this week. Until next time, have a good one.

Another week has passed and I have managed to finish another bear, and here it is.

Comfort Bear No 37 for this year

With all the large projects that I am currently working on at the moment, Comfort Bears are the only things that are going to be finished for some time.

That's all I have for you for this week. Until next time, have a good one.

Richard.

I have one finished object this week and here it is.

Comfort Bear No 36 for this year.

Comfort Bear No 33 for this year.

Comfort Bear No 34 for this year.

Comfort Bear No 35 for this year.

These three bears have been finished over the last three weeks and are now ready for service. When I get a bag full I will deliver them to the next clinic on my list.

That's all I have for you now. Until next time, have a good one.

Comfort Bear No 32 for this year

Two more Comfort bears ready for service. I will be getting these down to the doctors next week when I go done to post off some sheep that my sister has bought.

Wednesday WIPs - 01.09.2021

Since we're in lockdown here and I can't go out to darts I figured I should show everyone what I have been working on, so here are three blankets.

Waffle Stitch Baby Blanket

I only recently learnt about the waffle stitch and this was my first and is my current waiting room project.

Corner to corner Waffle Stitch Blanket

After learning the Waffle Stitch I decided to see if I use it in a corner to corner Blanket. This one will go on my queen sized bed eventually.

Waffle Stitch Cot Blanket

After starting two Waffle Stitch blankets I then got a request front one of the ladies from church. It seems that her granddaughter wanted a cot blanket and had provided some harm and the pattern that she wanted it done in. Unfortunately the lady only knows how to do granny squares so she passed it on to me. I have finished the first three balls and am now waiting for another dozen to arrive so that I can finish the job.

I didn't really plan on doing just Waffle Stitch but if that's what people want then I guess that's what I'm going to do.

That's all for now. Hopefully I will remember to post my finished objects this week but I make no promises.

Until next time, have a good one.

Richard.

Friday FOs - 20.08.2021

I've been a bit slack the last few weeks, not posting my gibbous objects, so here they are in order of completion.

Comfort Bear No 26 for this year

Chevron Blanket

I started this one too show a young lady in my craft group how to do it.

Comfort Bear No 27 for this year.

Comfort Bear No 28 for this year

Comfort Bear No 29 for this year

Comfort Bear No 30 for this year

The blanket will be available in my shop (http://madeit.com.au/rosescraft) at some time in the future. The bears will be delivered to the doctors soon.

That's it from me for now. Until next time, have a good one.

Richard.

Wednesday WIPs - 21.07.2021

I thought it was about time I showed what I have been working on recently. Here are some of my WIPs.

Charity Blanket

The patches for this blanket were donated to The Salvation Army along with a stack of yarn and I am putting them together to fork two blankets. This is my Friday morning crochet class project.

Corner to corner waffle stitch blanket - take one

I decided I wanted to make a blanket for my bed and decided to experiment with combining the corner to corner technique that I experimented with earlier with the waffle stitch so I started but decided I didn't like where the colour changes were happening.

Corner to corner waffle stitch blanket - take two

This is the start of my second attempt at starting this blanket. I'm liking the colour changes more on this version so this is what I'm going with. It will be a queen size blanket.

Waffle stitch baby blanket

This is my current waiting room project.

Chevron blanket

I have been working on this while watching TV.

I have other projects but they have stalled either due to lack of interest or still being packed after my move late last year.

That's it from me for now. I hope to have something finished for Friday but make no promises. Until next time, have a good one.

Richard.

Friday FOs - 16.07.2021

I didn't get around to taking a photo of last week's bear due to a shopping trip that took longer than expected so you get a double helping this week.

Comfort Bear No 24 for this year

Comfort Bear No 25 for this year

Two more bears ready for service.

That's all I have for you for now. Until next time, have a good one.

Friday FOs - 02.07.2021

Well, I forgot to post my finished objects last week so I have two weeks of finished objects to show off this week, and here they are.

Comfort Bear No 23 for this year

I managed to finish another bear last week.

Dog Coat

This dog coat isn't technically finished but I have finished my part. The owner of the dog is going to buy the Velcro and sew it on. Hopefully, when it is all done, I will get a photo of the dog wearing it and be able to show you the finished article.

The base of a bag.

A while ago my ex asked me how I would go about making a rectangle with diagonal rows. I told her how I would do it but, as usual, she didn't really listen to me and messed it up so I decided to make one as a proof of concept, and this was the result and, rather than undo it, I decided to make it the base of a bag.

The bag with the diagonal striped base.

Here is the bag.

For those that would like to know how it is done, I will now explain.

Start with 4 ch. Do 4 treble (US dc) into the first ch.  To increase at the start of a row do 3 ch and 2 tr into the tr at the base of the ch. To increase at the end of the row do 2 tr in the 3rd ch of the previous row's starting ch. To decrease at the start of the row do 2 ch and a 2tr cluster in the next 2 tr. To decrease at the end of the row do a 2 tr cluster in the last 2 tr leaving the ch. To make the rectangle, increase at both ends until you have the width you want. Keep increasing at one end while decreasing at the other until you have the length you want then decrease at both ends until you have 4 tr plus starting ch left. Do 2 ch then a 3 tr cluster in the next 3 tr.

If these instructions aren't clear to you then that would explain why my ex messed up.

That's all I have for you for this week. Until next time, have a good one.

Richard.

Richard.

Friday FOs - 28.05.2021

While I have been working on several projects this week only one produced a finished object, and here it is.

Comfort Bear No 19 for this year

I have a bag full of these now so it must be time I made a delivery.

The other projects I have been working on are two blankets and a bag. I am almost out of yarn for one of the blankets so I will have to decide if it is big enough or if I'm going to go out and get some more.

That's all I have for you this week. Until next time, have a good one.

Richard.

Friday FOs - 21.05.2021

I have managed to finish a couple of projects that I have been working on for a while, as well as this week's Bear. Here they are.

Bunny

One of the ladies in my craft group asked me to make her a rabbit, so here it is.

One side of a bag

The flip side of the bag

I wanted to free up my shopping bags for my catalogue deliveries so I started experimenting with making bags from squares and this is the result. I have now given up delivering catalogues so don't really need more bags. It was an interesting experiment anyway.

Comfort Bear No 18 for this year

Another Bear ready for service. I am getting close to having a full bag of these so I will have to make a delivery.

That's all I have for this week. Until next time, have a good one.

Richard.

Friday, April 23, 2021

Friday FOs - 23.04.2021

Well, I didn't manage to finish this week's Bear but I did manage to finish something, and here it is.

Drink Bottle Cosy with shoulder strap

I wanted a new bottle cosy, I wanted to make it in cotton to soak up the condensation that forms on the bottle when the water is ice cold and I liked the colour of this cotton. I grew up in the sixties so this is kind of a reminder of that period of my life and a reminder that God loves us all.

That's all I have for this week. Until next time, have a good one.

Richard.

Friday, April 16, 2021

Friday FOs - 16.4.2021

Because I forgot to post last week I have two weeks of finished objects to show you this week, and here they are.

Comfort Bear No 12 for this year

I keep hearing good things from the nurses at the doctors surgeries where I drop these off.

Blanket from Squares donated to the Arts, Crafts and Activities Group

I am one of the tutors for the Arts, Crafts and Activities Group and was asked to make a blanket from squares that had been donated, Some of the squares needed to be finished before they could be joined to the blanket and this is the result of my efforts.

Comfort Bear No 13 for this year

Another Comfort Bear ready for service.

That's all I have for now. Hopefully I will remember to post next Friday (if I have anything finished). Until next time, have a good one.

Richard.
