Friday FOs - 28.01.2022

As promised on Wednesday, I have a finished object to show off and it isn't a bear. Here it is.

A Produce Bag

These take far too long to make and I won't be making any more.

That's it from me for now. I will try to update you on my WIPs next Wednesday. Until next time, have a good one.

Richard.

Friday FOs - 02.07.2021

Well, I forgot to post my finished objects last week so I have two weeks of finished objects to show off this week, and here they are.

Comfort Bear No 23 for this year

I managed to finish another bear last week.

Dog Coat

This dog coat isn't technically finished but I have finished my part. The owner of the dog is going to buy the Velcro and sew it on. Hopefully, when it is all done, I will get a photo of the dog wearing it and be able to show you the finished article.

The base of a bag.

A while ago my ex asked me how I would go about making a rectangle with diagonal rows. I told her how I would do it but, as usual, she didn't really listen to me and messed it up so I decided to make one as a proof of concept, and this was the result and, rather than undo it, I decided to make it the base of a bag.

The bag with the diagonal striped base.

Here is the bag.

For those that would like to know how it is done, I will now explain.

Start with 4 ch. Do 4 treble (US dc) into the first ch.  To increase at the start of a row do 3 ch and 2 tr into the tr at the base of the ch. To increase at the end of the row do 2 tr in the 3rd ch of the previous row's starting ch. To decrease at the start of the row do 2 ch and a 2tr cluster in the next 2 tr. To decrease at the end of the row do a 2 tr cluster in the last 2 tr leaving the ch. To make the rectangle, increase at both ends until you have the width you want. Keep increasing at one end while decreasing at the other until you have the length you want then decrease at both ends until you have 4 tr plus starting ch left. Do 2 ch then a 3 tr cluster in the next 3 tr.

If these instructions aren't clear to you then that would explain why my ex messed up.

That's all I have for you for this week. Until next time, have a good one.

Richard.

Friday FOs - 21.05.2021

I have managed to finish a couple of projects that I have been working on for a while, as well as this week's Bear. Here they are.

Bunny

One of the ladies in my craft group asked me to make her a rabbit, so here it is.

One side of a bag

The flip side of the bag

I wanted to free up my shopping bags for my catalogue deliveries so I started experimenting with making bags from squares and this is the result. I have now given up delivering catalogues so don't really need more bags. It was an interesting experiment anyway.

Comfort Bear No 18 for this year

Another Bear ready for service. I am getting close to having a full bag of these so I will have to make a delivery.

That's all I have for this week. Until next time, have a good one.

Richard.

Shopping Bag with Pouch

Shopping Bag in Pouch
This should be my last shopping bag for a while. I now have 12 of these, and until I sell one, I won't be making more.

Two Red Birds
A little while ago I finished the second of two Brown Bears as part of the story "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do You See?". Anybody tht has read the book will know that the answeer to that question is "I see a red bird looking at me", so here are the red birds to go with the brpwn bears. The next question is "Red bird, red bird, what do yuo see?" If you know the story you will know what animal I with be working on next.

That's all I have for you for this week. Until next time, have a good one.

Wednesday WIPs - 06.05.2020

I thought it was time to show everyone that I don't just make Comfort Bears and Shopping Bags. Here are some things that I have been working on recently.

A Brown Bear
The start of the story "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do You See?"

A Project Bag in Cotton
Some of the shopoping bags that I have been using are starting to fall apart and the rest have been repurposed to carry catalogues.

A Project Bag in Acrylic
I started this one while waiting for the doctor becuse I didn't have the yarn I needed to continue doing the blanket that I normally work on in waiting rooms.

Hungarian Squares Blanket
This is the blanket that I normally work on iwhile in waiting rooms. I just need to do one more round and join them which I will start on next time I am in a waiting room now that I have the appropriate yarn in the bag.

That's it from me for now. Until next time, have a good one.

Friday FOs 24.04.2020

Last week I managed to post my finished objects to all the different forums that I participate in excep this blog and that is because my tablet ran out of battery power, so this week you get 2 week's worth of finished objects, and here they are.

Comfort Bear No 16 for this year
Here is last week's bear.

Two Yellow Sheep
I managed to finish the two yellow sheep that I have been working on for about 4 weeks.

One full set of Sheep
I now have two full sets of sheep inspired by the book "Where is the Green Sheep".

Friday FOs - 03.04.2020

I have been trying to do the same things at home that I would normally do if I had gone out. Practising darts when I would normally be playing, practicing piano when I would normally be singing with the choir amd crocheting at those times that I would normally be teaching. As a result I have managed to finish two objects this week, and here they are.

Shopping Bag with Pouch

Shopping Bag in Pouch
Another shopping bag ready for use. Another four of these and I will have enough and all will be available for purchase in my shop.

Comfort Bear No 13 for this year
Another comfort bear ready for service. I have a bag full of these ready to take to the doctors when I go for my appointment later this month.

That's all I have for you this week. Until next time, have a good one.

Richard.

Wednesday WIPs - 25-03-2020

Since I my regular Wednesday evening activities have been cancelled for the duration of pandemic I have time to post a few progress photos. Here are some of the objects that I have worked on this week.

Two Yellow Sheep
It seems to be taking longer than normal to get these finished. Maybe now that I am spending more time at home I can get more work done on these.

Another Shopping Bag with Pouch
I am still making Shopping Bags. I will eventually move on to other things but I don't believe I have enough yet.

Hungarian Crochet Square
I have spent a bit of time in waiting rooms recently and so have made some progress on this.

Regular readers will have noticed that I didn't post anyting on Friday. This is because I didn't finish anything last week. The time I would normally be crocheting was spent driving as I had a memorial service to attend some 5+ hours away.

That's about all I have for you at the moment. Until next time, have a good one.

Richard.
