Psalm 8

We had a special meeting this morning with the dedication of an infant, so the whole service was centred around children.

The reading this morning came from Psalm 8.

A great theologian by the name of Karl Barth was once asked to summarize Christianity by a group of students attending a seminary. After some consideration he answered "Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so."

This is something that often gets overlooked today. We all want to be loved and hear it from those that we love. To be loved warts and all is a blessing. How much more of a blessing is it to to know that we are loved by God?

Have you ever felt that you didn't belong? We all have a need to feel that we belong to something. We can all belong to Christ.

Why does God bother with us when we are so small and insignificant compared to Him? We are weak but He is strong. God does not leave us alone in our weakness. God will use that weakness to overthrow His enemies.

Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so!

May God bless you richly this week.

The Week That Was 03-03-2012

There was quite a bit of drama at college this week. Heavy rain caused the gutters to overflow and flood the eaves, this in turn leaked into the class room, getting into some power points and knocking out 2 clusters of computers. When I arrive at college on Tuesday morning I got told that I couldn't get on to try and finish my homework (can't do it at home due to a lack of software). The teacher had to find us some alternative machines so that could continue with lessons. By the time the next downpour occurred they had put measures into place to direct the water away from power points and computers so that we would be able to continue working.

This week we learnt about paragraph formatting and tabulation in Word, deco tool in Flash, the clone tool in Photoshop, installed operating systems and started optimising them, and completed our first pages by writing raw HTML. I think we have another week or 2 on Word before we move onto Excel and we'll start on DreamWeaver next week.

I have been quite productive on the crafting front, although I really need to find some time to do some of the homework that I able to do at home. It's either that or spend extra time at college to try and catch up. I haven't figured out what my finished object is going to be this week but I guess I'm going to have to start on something soon if I'm going to have any chance of finishing it before Friday. I need to make up a couple more tea cosies and I can usually do those in a couple of days so that might be the go.

I actually had a pupil for the crochet class yesterday morning so that kinda made it worthwhile making an appearance, although it gave me less time to work on my own projects. While having the time to work on my own projects is nice, it's not why I go there so I shouldn't complain.

The weather forecast for next week isn't much better than this week but hopefully the quantity of rain will be less. There are a lot of areas around both NSW and Vic that are under water at the moment so a bit a relief would be nice, but just in case it keeps going, does anyone know how to build an ark?

That's it for my busy week this week, hope you all had a good one.

FO Friday 02-03-2012

Well, it's Friday and time to show off my FO for this week. As promised, this weeks FO has nothing to do with towels.

Wine Glass Socks

I'm still debating as to whether I should publish the pattern for these as nobody has ever asked for it. I can remember looking for a pattern myself and not being able to find one, which is why I wrote my own,  but it seems that I'm the only person that wants to make these.

As usual, check out Tami's Amis for more FO Friday goodness.

WIP Wednesday 29-02-2012

Another Wednesday and all except one of my projects has progressed. I'm still waiting for cooler weather before I start back on the tartan rug. I also plan on finishing the Daffodil Teacloth before than but progress has slowed a bit since I started college.

Here are all my WIPs in order of most to least progress:

Daffodil Teacloth - 3rd segment

Men's Afghan Stitch Gloves - back of right hand

Tommy Turtle - top of body

Slanted Scarf

Toddler's Jacket - Zoom by Ellen Gormley

Sleeve of Hoodie - Dawg by Drew Emborsky

Crochenit Cot Blanket

I had a few problems with the camera today, the batteries ran out of charge, so I used my phone instead. I actually think the phone take better photos, especially since I didn't need to adjust the colour levels this time.

I have found another blog to link my WIPs post to so, as well as Tami's Amis, Ginny's Yarn Along and Kristine's WIP Wednesday post you can also check out Nicole's Keep Calm Craft On post.

I will be back on Friday with this week's FO, which has nothing to do with towels.

Richard.

Edit: changed Tami's Amis link to current post.
