Friday FOs - 24.08.2018

I have been just a little less productive this week as previous weeks, having taken the day off, yesterday, to go up to Wagga Wagga to have lunch with my sister and father, however, I actually have 4 finished objects to show. It's just some WIPs that have suffered. Here are my finished objects for this week.

2016 CAL Blanket
This has taken a while but is finally finished. I'm not sure if the people that were working on this CAL will be expecting a finished blanket this late.

Comfort Bear No. 34 for 2018
Another week and another bear. I'm still on target to finish one bear each week this year.

Octopus No. 12
Another octopus to add to the collection. I do hope the hospital will take them.

Penguin No. 2 for 2018
The first penguin is already sold so I might need to make a few of these.

That's all from me for this week. Until next time, have a good one.

Wednesday WIPs - 03.01.2018

This being the first Wednesday of the year I thought I had better find all my UFOs and show where thay are all at. I found nine projects in various stages of completion, not incuding the Comfort Bear that I started today. Here they all are.

Large Jug Cover
I had hoped to have this one finished by now but that was not to be.

Appliques
I have almost finished the last Heart. Once that is finished I will need to chose a pattern for the last four appliques. I'm thinking of an angel for the last four.

Tunisian Spiral Blanket
Just one more corner to negotiate, finish up the side then change to black for one more circuit and this will be done.

Corner-to-Corner Pixel Square.
Progress has been quite slow on this one since I have only been working on it at markets and I haven't been to many markets lately.

Double Knit Butterfly Blanket - side 1
Double Knit Butterfly Blanket - side 2
This is another that I only work on at markets so it hasn't seen a lot of progress either.

Story Time Blanket
This one is on hold until I finish the Appliques.

2016 CAL Blanket
I don't know why I haven't joined these yet. I will get around to it sometime this year.

Four Graduation Owls
These were still packed in a box until this afternoon. I didn't know which box they were in and it took a bit of searching to find them, but now that they're found, I will have to get them finished.

Hungarian Squares Blanket
I started this project just because I wanted to try Hungarian Crochet.

I have a lot of projects on the go and soon will have one more. One of my friends from church has asked me to knit him a beanie for which he has agreed to pay me $20. I probably cause myself a few problems but I never knock back a commision job.

I know this is quite a lot of projects to get finished but I'm sure I can get them done. Feel free to offer any words of encouragement you have to offer, they would be most appreciated.

That's it for now. I hope to have something finished for Friday, even if it is only a Comfort Bear.

Wednesday WIPs - 01.02.2017

It's Wednesday night and time to post pictures of my WIPs for this week. Unfortunately, I forgot to take photos this afternoon so, instead of natural light photos, you get flash photos. Here they are.

Moogly CAL 2016 Block #24
This is technically the last block for the blanket, but, since my squares are somewhat smaller than the prescribed 12" squares that others are doing, I will have done an extra block to make this a square knee rug size blanket.

Moogly CAL 2016 Extra Block
I took this block from the 2015 Moogly CAL. Now that I have my squares done I can get onto joining them. I might actually start this year's CAL before everyone gets more than 4 squares done.

Shopping Bag with Pouch
This has been my go-to project for when I don't want to try reading a pattern.

That's it from me for now. Check back on Friday to see if I have managed to finish anything.

Wednesday WIPs - 25.01.2017

I got into a couple of boxes, this week, and managed to find a few of my projects and other things that either need repair or finishing. One of the things I found was a block for the 2016 Moogly CAL that I should have photographed about two months ago and didn't for some reason. Here is that block and the next.

Moogly CAL 2016 - Block #23
My version of Block #23 for last year's Moogly CAL.

Moogly CAL 2016 - Block #24
I almost finished this one. Since my blocks ae somewhat smaller that the 12" that they're designed to be (I'm using DK instead of worsted weight) I will be looking for an alternate block so I can make this a square blanket that will be knee rug size.

That's it from me for now. Be sure to check back on Friday to see my finished objects.

Wednesday WIPs -

Another week has gone by with only a little progress. Here are the projects that I have worked on this week.

Story Time Blanket
I have actually gone backwards on this one. I discovered a mistake that I had made quite a way back and it was a little too obvious and the only way the fix it was to frog back and redo it.

Tunisian Spiral Blanket
I took a friend to the doctors the other day and took this with me so I would have something to work on while I waited. I got through another couple of colour changes.

Trauma Teddy
I wouldn't normally show this one at this stage but I will be moving house soon and don't ecpect to finish this this year. Lots of packing, moving and unpacking will mean that I will be too busy.

I did work on Block #23 in the Moogly CAL this week but forgot about it when it came time to take photos. Hopefully I will be able to show you the completed block next week.

As usual, check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have been working on.

Wednesday WIPS - 23.11.2016

I'm still struggling with getting any crochet done this week. I haven't worked on a Trauma Teddy at all, so don't expect me to post anything on Friday. I have managed to get a little bit done so here are the projects that I have worked on this week.

Story Time Blanket
One of my students decided to start a more complex project last Friday so I had to spend a bit more time helping her and didn't get much done on this one.

Moogly CAL Block 22
I managed to get this block finished but haven't worked on the latest block yet. I will still be making blocks when everyone else has finished putting their blankets together.

Tunisian Spiral Blanket
I was at the dentist today so I pulled this one out and did a bit while I was waiting. Unfortunately, I didn't get a lot done because I ran out of the pink I was using.

That's it from me for now. Be sure to check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have been working on.

Wednesday WIPs - 16.11.2016

Well, I'm trying to get my crochet act together and have been a little more productive this week. I have lots of photos but only three projects, and here they are.

Story Time Blanket
My students didn't need as much help this week so I was able to give this project a little more of my time and made pretty good progress on it.

Butterfly Square - side one
Butterfly Square - Side 2
I managed to finish another butterfly and took photos of all the butterflies I have made so far.

8 Butterflies- side 1
8 Butterflies - side 2
Moogly CAL - Block 22
I almost got this block finished, just a little bit of sewing to be done.

That's it from me for this week. I have finished the Trauma Teddy that I started two weeks ago so I will be able to show that one on Friday and I should have this week's done by then also, so check back then to have a look at them. In the meantime, check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have been working on.

Wednesday WIPs - 02.11.2016

Firstly, for those that were waiting for my Monday Show Report post, I'm sorry, I forgot again, but don't worry, I've included it in today's post.

And now to your regular Wednesday WIPs feature. I have managed to get a bit more done this week, with a but of time spent in waiting rooms and working security in the Craft Pavilion for a few hours, so here are the items that I have worked on this week.

Story Time Blanket
It seems that having two students and being in a section of the blanket that requires a lot of colour changes means that I don't make a lot of progress. I did make some progress so I guess that's a good thing, and I'm helping others learn the craft so that's an even better thing.

Butterfly Square - Side 1
Butterfly Square - Side 2
I did ten rows on this square while doing my first stint of security in the craft pavilion before heading out to showbag alley to pick up some bags of chocolate.

Rose Corner 2 Corner Pixel Square
This method of carrying the yarn instead of cutting it may save of having fewer ends to sew in but it can get very messy with all the strands of yarn getting twisted and tangled.

Moogly CAL - Block 21
Another block finished! I'm still behind but there is a chance that I will be able to catch up this week.

Tunisian Spiral Blanket
A few more colour changes and I nearly at the next corner. I would say that that is good progress.

And now for the show report. I entered 5 items in this year's show and I managed to get a first and a second in the "Tricot, Broomstick, Hairpin" category, and here they are.

Prize winning Beanie and Scarf.
That just happens to be my favourite category to enter as not many other people do. In saying that I should point out that (a) if the judges didn't think the entries were good enough they wouldn't award a prize and (b) mine weren't the  only entries in that category this year.

That's it from me for now. I will try to get my Trauma Teddy finished this week so that I can show it off on Friday, but don't hold your breath. In the meantime, be sure to check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have been working on.

Wednesday WIPs - 26.10.2016

I have had another week of not getting as much done as I would have liked. Here are my WIPs for this week.

Tunisuan Spiral Blanket
I managed another change of colours this week and I expect to do a bit more on it tomorrow as I will be taking a friend to a dentist appointment in Wodonga.

Story Time Blanket
This one is getting so big that it's getting difficult to photograph. I might have to get the stepladder out soon.

Moogly CAL 2016 Block 21
I didn't get this one finished this week, although there is still a chance I can finish it before the next block comes out on Friday.

That's it from me for now. I doubt if I will have anything to show you on Friday but I might have something to show you on Monday. Today I took my entries for this year's Albury Show down to the Craft Pavilion for judging and I will find out the results on Friday. If I win anything I will do a Manday Mayhem post to show off my wins.

In the meantime, be sure to check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have been working on.

Wednesday WIPs - 19.10.2016

I have tried to get a bit more done this week and, with the help of the time spent at Friday morning crochet class all by myself and time spent in a waiting room, I have managed to make a bit of progress on a couple of projects. Here are my WIPs for this week.

Story Time Blanket
I made pretty good progress on this while not having to worry about teaching. It seems that all my students needed to be somewhere else for the first week of term.

Moogly CAL Block 20
Another block complete. If I manage to get block 21 done this week I will actually be caught up.

Tunisian Spiral Blanket
I had a podiatrist appointment yesterday and got there nice and early to avoid the bad weather that was about to hit. That gave me plenty of time to work on this one and get another couple of colour changes done. Tomorrow I'm taking a friend to an appointment over in Wodonga so I should get a bit more done.

I have finished one trauma teddy this week and hope to finish another before Friday so I will definitely have something to show. In the meantime, check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have been working on.

Wednesday WIPs - 12.10.2016

First off, I feel I need to apologise for the lack of posts last week. I took a photo ready for my Wednesday WIPs post then forgot to post it and I didn't finish anything. I have also struggled to get any crochet done and haven't done a CAL block this week which means I'm still behind, especially since a new block comes out on Friday.

So, here are my WIPs for the last two weeks.

Moogly CAL Block 19
I managed to finish this block and take a photo last week but only just got around to showing today. I did think I was going to catch up this week but I guess that isn't to be.

Rose Corner to Cornere Pixel Square
I'm experimenting with a method for carrying the yarn to where it's next needed. I can't say that it's not visible but at least I don't have as many ends to worry about later. I'm still trying to sew in all the ends of the first square I did.

That's it from me for now, be sure to check back on friday for my finished objects. In the meantime, check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have been working on.

Wednesday WIPs - 28.09.2016

It's Wednesday again, and time to show you what I have been working on. Unfortunately, my crochet mojo is still missing. As a result, it has taken me two weeks to get a CAL block done which is something that normally takes a couple of days, and I haven't worked on a Trauma Teddy this week so I won't have anything finished for Friday. The CAL block wasn't the only thing I worked on this week as Sue and I had dental appointments today and I spent a bit of time in the waiting room.

Here are my WIPs for this week.

Moogly CAL - Block 18
I should have had block 19 finished by now so I guess I'm still behind. Hopefully the next block won't take so long and I will be caught up in a couple of weeks.

Tunisian Spiral Blanket
I found a mistake when I turned the corner but I could be bothered undoing the last four colour changes to fix it. I doubt if anybody else will notice it.

That's it from me for this week. Hopefully I will be back next week with better news. In the meantime, if you have any spare mojo, send me some, and check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have been working on.

Richard.

Wednesday WIPs - 21.09.2016

I think I have been a little more productive this week than the last couple of weeks, although I didn't manage to complete a CAL block so I haven't caught up any this week. Here are my WIPs.

Story Time Blanket
We had an open day at church on Saturday I was asked to organise the seniors craft group in the hope of attracting more people to join us. I decided to take this one with me to give me some extra time working on it, especially since crochet classes are having a break.

Moogly CAL Block 18
I didn't get very far with this block this week so I hope to get it finished soon so I can start on the next. Since the next block is the current CAL block I'm kinda anxious to get it done so that I can say that I've caught up.

Tunisian Spiral Blanket
I had to take my wife to the dentist yesterday so I got this one out while I was waiting.

That's it from me for today. I will have a Trauma Teddy made this week so check back on Friday to check it out. In the meantime, check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have been working on.

Richard.
