Wednesday WIPs - 01.01.2020

I thought it would be a good idea to start the new year by showing off all my WIPs, so here they are.

A Comfort Bear in the making
This is what this week's comfort bear looked like a 3:00pm. I don't normally show these on Wednesday as I am confident that I can complete it before Friday But thought I might as well include it today.

A Shopping Bag with Pouch
Another bag to add to the collection. This one probably won't be finished by Friday but the one I started last week is so I do have a bag to show off on Friday.

Two Purple Sheep
Two heads, 8 legs and half a body done so far. I doubt if I will get these finished in the next couple of days.

Lounge Chair Cover
I only work on this on Friday evenings after I have posted my finished objects for the week. Most weeks I don't seem to have any time to work on it at all.

Story Time Blanket
Reverse side of Story Time Blanket
This is a project I started a few years ago for the Sunday School kids. I mostly work on this on Friday mornings while at crochet class so it's in time out now due to no classes and being too hot to work on. In the first photo it looks pretty mush done but a close look at the second reveals all the ends yet to be sewn in. I also plan on embroidering a Bible verse in the blank area next to the cross.

Corner to Corner Pixel Blanket
This is one of two projects I work on while at markets. I'm still trying to work out the best way of avoiding having so many ends to sew in. The top left square was my first attempt and there are far too many ends.

Double Knit Butterfly Squares - side one
Double Knit Butterfly Squares - side two
This is the second of the two projects I work on while at markets. I'm still kinda learning the technique and hve recently seen a video on how to cast on for double knitting. Myabe I will try it for the next square.

Hungarian Crochet Squares
This is my 'waiting room' project. I seem to spend quite a bit of time in waiting rooms (might be because of my age) and I need something to work on because I'm not really into reading magazines.

Short Rows Knitted Scarf
This is another project that goes pretty much every where I do but only comes out when I'm bored with everything else. I made one of these in Tunisian Crochet and thought I would try a knitted version.

Sunhat and Bootees
While this is a UFO I'm not sure that it qualifies as a WIP as I don't really have any incentive to finished it. Baby clothes just don't seem to be selling at the moment. It seems that the current generation of parents just aren't interested in putting their kids in handmade clothing.

I should probably check my to-do lost (posted on Monday) to see if I managed to find all my unfinished objects (or make sure they're all listed) but these are the ones that I did find.

That's it for now. Until next time, have a good one.

Richard.

Wednesday WIPs - 02.01.2019

It's the start of a new year and I thought I should start the year by showing the status of my WIPs. These are all bar rhe comfort bear and blue horse that I hope to have finished for Friday.

Story Time Blanket
I'm currently working on the border. Once that is finished, I will need to sew in all the ends and embroider a bible verse in the blank area.

Tunisian Sprial Blanket
All the crocheting is done on this, I just need to sew in all the ends.

Corner to Corner Pixel Squares Blanket
This is one of two projects that I have been working on while at markets. I have almost finished crocheting the second square but still have lots of ends to sew in on the first.

Double Knit Butterfly Squares - side 1
Double Knit Butterfly Squares - side 2
This is the second of the projects that I have been working on while at markets. I think I have one quarter of the squares that I need for the full blanket.

Knitted Short Rows Scarf
I started this as an experiment to see if I could do a knitted version of the Tunisian Short Rows Scarf I made a few years ago. I will eventually get around to continuing work on it.

Yarn Eater Squares Blanket
I decided to try this as I had never done it before. Now it's kinda waiting while I get some more of the toys that I'm making finished.

Baby's Sunhat and Bootees in Yellow
One more item from my to-list getting ticked off. I still have a set in white to do once this set is done.

I think that's all of my WIPs. There may be more hiding in one of the boxes that I haven't unpacked yet.  I know I have at least one tartan blanket that my ex-wife wants me to finish, but it will have to wait until I clear some of these other projects.

That's it for now. Until next time, have a good one.

Wednesday WIPs - 28.11.2018

I thought it was about time I showed off some of my WIPs, and here they are.

Story Time Blanket
I started on the boarder a few weeks ago and it's already starting to flatten out the bosy of the blanket.

Tunisian Spiral Blanket
I'm almost finished the border on this one. Soon I will be sewing in the ends.

Yarn Eater Blanket
It has been a while since I worked on this one but I have made good progress in the last couple of weeks.

Sunhat and Bootees in Yellow
Another in a series of Sunhat and Bootees sets.

That's it for now. I'm going away on Friday but I will try to post my finished items. If I don't, then you will get a double dose next week.

Until next time, have a good one.

Friday FOs - 28.09.2018

I was out late last Friday and got home too late to post so you get two weeks of finished this week. Here are last week's finished objects.

Corner-to-Corner Pram Blanket
I bought this yarn at last year's Craft Alive and thought it was about time I used it.

Comfort Bear No. 38 for 2018
It was "Sunshine Week" at one of the community centres that I go to so I decided this one needed to have a bright yellow  shirt.

A Flat Yellow Octopus
This is yellow for the same reaon the bear has a yellow shirt, it's flat because one of the ladies at the community centre wanted it that way. She intends to use it as an applique on a kids sea themed blanket.

And now for this week's finished objects.

Yellow Sheep No. 2
Having sold one yellow sheep I figured I needed to make another. I will be making all the other colours soon.

Comfort Bear No. 39 for 2018
Another week, another bear.

Sunhat and Bootees set in mauve
I decided to get the bear out again to model this sunhat and bootees set.

That's it from me for now. Until next time, have a good one.

Friday FOs - 27.07.2018

It's getting a bit late here and it's almost Saturday so I will keep the comments a little short. Here are my finished objects for this week.

Comfort Bear #30 for 2018
I'm still keeping up with my one bear a week target.

Octopus #8
As well as making an octopus each week.

A Purple Sheep
While this one isn't actually mentioned in the book "Where is the Green Sheep" it is pictured so the community centre wanted it.

Sunhat and Bootees in pink
This has been on top of my to-do list for a while so I though it was about time I got it done.

Bear modelling the Sunhat and Bootees
While I had the bear out I thought he might as well model these. I'm not sure that he is all that happy about it though.

That's it from me for this week. Until next time, have a good one.

Wednesday WIPs - 11.07.2018

I managed to get some photos of some items that I have worked on this week, and here they are.

Sunhat and Bootees
The bootees are made, just need the loose ends sewn in and ribbons threaded through, amd the sunhat has been started.

Knitted Short Rows Scarf
After doing one of these in Tunisian Crochet I thought I might try a knitted version. I don't know how long this ine is going to take me as I will be doing whenever I can kinda fit it in, at least until I finish some other items.

Chihuahua Coat
I'm not entirely sure that this design is going to work, I'm just kinda winging it. I don't even have something I can try it on to see if it is going to work.

That's it from me for now. I don't actually have anything finished at the moment but I hope to finish a couple of items tomorrow. I will have to see how I go.

Unitl next time, have a good one.

Wednesday WIPs - 27.06.2018

I think it is about time I showed some progress photos. Here are some of the items that I have worked on recently.

Bootees for a Sunhat and Bootees set
I'm not sure that I need any more bootees for my stall but I don't have any Sunhat and Bootees sets at the moment and they were at the top of my to-do list.

Green Sheep
This is the third green sheep since I started making these. The first went to my sister to be given to my great niece whose favourite book is "Where's the Green Sheep", the second is finished and ready to be photographed before being given to the local community centre (they read this book to the kids sometimes) and this one will be added to my shop. I plan to make other coloured sheep as weel but seem to be stuck on green ones at the moment.

Story Time Blanket
Only two more strips and the border to go on this one then it will be time to sew in the ends and embroider a verse of scripture into the blank area before I call it done.

Tunisian Sprial Blanket
I am now working on the black edging. Once that's done I will sew in the ends and call it done.

I have also been working on joining the squares I made for the 2016 Moogly CAL but didn't remember to take photos. Maybe if I remember next week you will get to see it.

I did take photos of my finished objects last Friday but forgot to post them. If I remember this week I will post them along with this week's finished objects.

That's it for now, until next time, have a good one.

Friday FOs - 02.10.2015

I didn't finish as many items as I expected to, but I still managed to finish a few. Here are my finished objects for this week.

TraumaTeddy #34

Trauma Teddy #35
One new trauma teddy made and one sewn together making two more to be given away.

Shy Butterfly Baby Booties in 4 ply
These are finished just in time to be entered into the local show.

Man's Beanie
My plastic head is in the garage so I used my own instead. It's a little easier to take a photograph of the back of your own head when you can see what the camera is aimed at, which is one of the benefits of my new camera which can be wirelessly connected to my tablet.

That's it from me for this week. As usual, check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have made.

Wednesday WIPs - 23.09.2015

Quite a few of my projects have been worked on this week. That probably means that there isn't much progress on any of them but I hope it's noticeable anyway.

Two Penguins
I have made pretty good progress on these and might even be able to finish them next week.

Baby Blanket
It is a little harder to see the progress on this one but progress has been made.

Story Time Blanket
I'm sure you can see the progress on this one although I haven't made as much progress as I would have liked.

Beanie
I'm on the decrease section of this and may have it finished within the next week also.

Shy Butterfly Baby Booties
The second bootie has been made so both are ready for the butterfly cuff. I could have three items finished next week!

Moogly CAL Square #19
I didn't get this one done this week but I have another week before the next square comes out so there is plenty of time.

That's it from me for this week. I'm sure Sue will have her blog updated later tonight and I will have something to show you on Friday. Until then, be sure to check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have been working on.

Richard.
