Now that I've introduced myself I figure I should introduce my craft, starting with my prize winners.
My profile picture features a jumper that I crocheted for myself. It was among the first items that I ever entered into the Royal Canberra Show and it won 2nd place in its category.
For all stitches I will be using the Australian terminology, which, as I understand, is the same as the European terminology. For those in the US, you will need to translate for yourselves.
The jumper is all double crochet, including the ribbing. The ribbing is achieved by crocheting into the back loop only. The pattern is crocheted over the mesh after the piece has been made.

Let me introduce myself
I am a 52 year old guy that likes to knit, crochet and play with computers.
I have just recently moved to Lavington (a suburb of Albury) in NSW, Australia and am currently in the middle of unpacking and organising our new home. Considering that our new home is somewhat smaller than the place we were living in in Canberra, this isn't an easy task.
Some people seem to think that it's unusual for a guy to knit and crochet but I keep telling them that it shouldn't be as it was guys that invented the art.
