WIP Wednesday 31.10.2012

Another Wednesday and time to show off my progress for this week.

Charity Blanket
The row that I made last week has been joined to the main blanket. One more row and I think it will be time to work on the border.

Make Your Own Dragon Adventure - by FreshStitches
All the bits have been attached. All that's left to do is to do a few more rows, stuff him and close him up, but that's going to have to wait because I need to make a couple of drink bottle cosies before the next Myrtleford market.

Toddler's Jacket #4 - Zoom by Ellen Gormley
I'm making pretty good progress on this one, although the rows are getting longer so I will probably slow down a bit.

Box Stitch Baby Blanket
This is still growing, although it is getting harder to tell as the rows get longer.

Crochenit Cot Blanket
This one is also growing slowly. It's almost time for another colour change.

On another note, I took my entries for the Albury Show in today. I will get to see how well they scored on Friday. Check back on Monday for a full report.

FO Friday 26.10.2012

This is 2 weeks in a row that I've had something finished. This seems so unusual for me even after going 7 months without missing a week. I've checked out my to-do list and there are so many small things that I need to make to replace items that I've sold that I should be able to have at least 1 every week for a while. In the meantime, here's something that I've been working on for a while.

Toddler's Jacket - Zoom by Ellen Gormley
I'm putting this one in the local show this year, along with 5 other items.

WIP Wednesday 24.10.2012

Happy Hump Day everyone. This week I've had a bout of startitis (I have so many other itises what's one more?), starting not just one or two new projects but three! Admittedly, two of these are to replace projects that I've just completed, so it's really only one new one. Here they are.

Design Your Own Dragon Adventure - pattern by Freshstitches
I decided to start making the attachments first this time as the pattern suggests they be attached before the dragon is stuffed. If the colours look a little familiar that's because the lady that wants this one wanted the same colours as the previous one. She actually wanted to buy the first one but was beaten to it.

Filet Crochet Table Runner - AustralianaV2 designed by me
I got up to the main body of this today but found that I had too many squares in the first row. It has been a while since I made the first one.

Toddler's Jacket #4 - Zoom by Ellen Gormley (GoCrochet)
This will probably tell you what my finished object is for this week. If you haven't figured it out then you will need to come back on Friday to find out.

Box Stitch Baby Blanket
It's getting hard to see the progress on this but I can assure you that there has been some.

Crochenit Cot Blanket
This is still growing slowly, but it is growing.

Charity Blanket
Another Row of squares is ready to be joined to the main blanket. I've checked the remaining squares and I think the next row will be the last since I don't have the yarn or the pattern for to make more.

And now for something that Sue is working on.

Knitted Baby Blanket
This is Sue's main project now that the crocheted blanket is finished.

The Week That Was 20.10.2012

We come to the end of another busy week, I've even managed to fit in some school work, although I'm still quite a bit behind.

I put in my entries for the Albury Show on Monday but the secretary wasn't there so I didn't get my tags. I will need to contact them this coming Monday to see what I need to do to get them.

The rest of the week has been quite ordinary up until this morning. This morning was market day at Thurgoona and I did quite well. Not enough to make a living out of my craft but enough to make it worthwhile going back. One thing that sold and will not be making it to my shop is the dragon that I completed this week. I did make a list of the things that I need to make to restock my market stall but I won't share that just yet, I'll wait until after next week's market to see if there is anything else that needs to be added.

Well, it's only a short post today. I hope everyone had a good week.

FO Friday 19.10.2012

My FOs have been a little sporadic of late but I am getting things finished and so is Sue, so this week you get 2 FOs, one of mine and one of Sue's. Here they are.

Design Your Own Dragon Adventure - pattern by FreshStitches
All finished now and ready to fly! He will be available from my store soon.

Crocheted Cot Blanket
Sue finished this this week and it will also be available in my store soon.

I finished the crochet on the Toddler's Jacket this morning at Crochet Class so it should be finished for next Friday, so long as I can find a button for it.

WIP Wednesday 17.10.2012

Well, it's Wednesday again, and I've made quite a bit of progress this week. I've even made some progress on my school work, although I'm sure there are some that think I should have made more progress on my school work and less on my crochet. Ah well, I'm enjoying the crochet more than the school work.

Here are my WIPs for this week.

Crochenit Cot Blanket
A little more has been added to this. Not as much as other projects but it's still growing.

Toddler's Jacket - Zoom by Ellen Gormley
The second sleeve is almost finished, then it will be a matter of sewing in all the ends and attaching a button. I expect I will have this finished for next week's FO Friday post.

Charity Blanket
Joined the new row to the blanket this week. I think I have enough squares for another 2 rows. In any case, I will just use up what squares I have then do a border as I don't have the pattern for the squares to make more of them.

Box Stitch Baby Blanket
I probably should measure this to see how big it's getting. I still don't know if I'm going to have to switch to white (or some other colour) to finish this off.

That's it from me for today. Come back on Friday to see what's been finished in Rose Manor this week. In the meantime, check out the links in the sidebar to see what everyone else has been making.

The Week That Was

I just realised that it has been over a month since I last did one of these. I'm not sure why I'm doing this as it seems that hardly anybody ever reads them, and if they do, that never leave a comment.

I've been kinda struggling lately, especially with my college work. I'm just not sure why I'm doing it any more, it doesn't seem important. What seems important at the moment is God, my faith in Him and His son, my wife and her health and well-being and my own health. I still want to learn about Web Design, but passing the course just doesn't seem important and too much effort. Studying also interferes with what I really want to be doing and that is creating things.

I've been very busy trying to get things finished in time for the Albury Show, but it looks like some things will have to wait until next year. I had some very big plans for this years show but I just don't seem to have had to time to get things done. I'm still waiting for the wool to finish my jumper (sweater, hoodie or whatever else you might want to call it), I want to do some more intarsia work and there are lots of other things I wanted to make. I have actually picked out 6 items that I am going to enter. I'm sure I can have the toddler's jacket done in time, the intarsia table runner, Squares in Squares blanket, Daffodil Teacloth, a pair of pink booties and a Tea Cosy are the other items I've selected. I thought about putting in a couple of the stuffed animals but I'm not sure which category to put them in.

Today was market day at Myrtleford. I went last month but it was a bit of a wash out. It's only a "Flea Market" (not than anyone there sells fleas) but I always seem to do quite well when the weather is fine and today was no exception. I had quite a bit of interest in my bottle cosies today with one actually selling. The others were all the wrongs colours, as usual, but I did get told what colours they wanted, so it seems I will be making a couple of black and white bottle cosies before the next Myrtleford market.

Well, tomorrow is the start of another week ( or the end of this one depending on how you figure your weeks) and I'm sure that I will be kept busy with study, crochet and other things, and maybe I'll remember to do another post next Saturday. I will definitely have something to show for WIP Wednesday and FO Friday next week so stay tuned.

Richard.

WIP Wednesday 10.10.2012

It has been another busy week here in Rose Manor. I'm still behind on my school work but I've managed to get some crochet done anyway. Here are my WIPs for this week.

Charity Blanket
I have another row of squares ready to be added to the blanket. When I was taking the photo of this this afternoon I noticed that I may have been working the rows from the wrong end as my joining stitches lay over in the opposite direction to those that I've been adding to. I don't really think the recipient of this will pay much attention to that so I'm not going to undo it or anything, I'll just keep going now until I run out of squares.

Crochenit Cot Blanket
 This is still growing slowly.

Make Your Own Dragon Adventure by FreshStitches
The feet and the snout have been added. I think the snout may be a bit crooked but it took me two attempts to get it this close so he will just have to put up with it.

Toddler's Jacket - Zoom by Ellen Gormley
This looks like one of the few things that is actually going to be ready for the local show this year. I have to decide which items I'm going to enter before the end of next week, then I have until the end of the month to get them ready.

Box Stitch Baby Blanket
Don't know how big this is going to get. I'm hoping to get it big enough for a cot blanket but I'm not sure if I have enough yarn. I could go around the outside in white to make it a bit bigger if it's close to the right size.

That's what I've been working on this week. Be sure to check out the links in the sidebar to see what everyone else has been working on.

FO Friday 05.10.2012

Hi All,

Today was a good day, right up until about 15 minutes ago when I( remembered that I hadn't taken a photo of my finished object for this week (that's what happens when I don;t finish anything for a few weeks), then, when I go to check what everyone else has been doing I find that the list of blogs I follow has been wiped clean so now I have to try and rebuild it. Ah well, at least I have the links on my blog for the link up with other bloggers.

Here are my finished object for this week.

6 Hanging Towels
I will be linking up with the usual crowd so check the links in the sidebar to see what everyone else has been making.

ETA: Must have been a glitch, everything seems back to normal now.

WIP Wednesday 03.10.2010

It's Wednesday again and I would like to start by thanking everyone for their lovely comments on last weeks post. I know I'm a bit slack when it comes to commenting on other peoples blogs but they already seem to have so many comments that I think mine will get lost in amongst all the others.

Anyhow, time to get on with showing you what I've been working on this week. I've only work on 3 items this week and 1 of them went backwards. Here they are.

Design Your Own Dragon Adventure  - pattern by FreshStitches
I've managed to complete the body and add arms and eyes. The pattern actually says to make all the bits and attach them before completing the body but I had a difficult time telling where to put the eyes until I had done most of the body any way.

Toddler's Jacket - Zoom by Ellen Gormley
I've managed to add a bit more to the second sleeve this week. I should be able to get this one finished within the next couple of weeks and then it will be ready for the show.

Crochenit Cot Blanket
I added a bit more to this but found that I had made a mistake on one of the corners and had to frog a couple of rows so that I could fix it.

Well, that's it from me. Check out the links in the sidebar to see what everyone else has been making.

Richard.
