Friday FOs - 29.05.2015

I have finally gotten around to finishing a trauma teddy but I still have plenty to do. Here are this week's finished objects.

Trauma Teddy
It has been a while since I finished any of these so I need to check how many I have done this year.

Beanie in St Kilda Colours
This is the next in the series of AFL beanies. I still have at least one more of the Melbourne teams to cover but someone has requested one in NSW State of Origin colours. I don't know if he will actually buy it but I figured it was worth doing anyway.

That's it from me for this week. As usual, check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have made.

Wednesday WIPs - 27.05.2015

It seems that Red Shield collecting has given me plenty of time for crocheting and knitting. I have managed to work on seven of my projects this week (not counting the trauma teddy that I started after taking photos). Here are the photos that I took this afternoon.

I'm going to show off Sue's current WIP first.

Sue's Tartan Carry Bag
Sue is finished the cross-stitch part of this project and has started working on the lining but hasn't progressed far enough to take a photo.

Woollen Baby Blanket
I only have a couple of octagons left to attach and then I will need to sew in all the ends.

Murray of Athol Tartan Blanket
It is now cold enough to have this one on my lap so I can continue working on it.

Tunisian Spiral Blanket
I have worked on this one a couple of times this week. It always seems to get a few people making comments.

Shy Butterfly Baby Jacket
The pattern for this calls for one of the sleeves to be made inside out so it probably looks like I'm working on the same sleeve I was working on last week but that is now on the other side.

Butterfly Square  (side one )

Butterfly Square  (side two )
I started the next square for my butterfly baby blanket.

Man-bag
I'm still working on this one and making good progress.

Two Monkeys
I have managed to make a bit of progress on these.

That's it from me for this week. Be sure to check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have been working on.

Friday FOs - 22.05.2015

With all the time I have spent collecting this week it was easy finding the time to get something finished. Here are the three items that I have finished this week.

Child's Beanie
This one is now ready for its recipient. I will be delivering this on Sunday.

AFL Beanie in Richmond Tigers colours
I started this one last week but didn't get it finished in time for last week's post.

AFL Beanie in Sydney Swans colours
And this one is this week's contribution.

That's it from me for this week. As usual, check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have made.

Wednesday WIPs - 20.05.2015

This week marked the start of the busiest couple of weeks of the year, Red Shield.  Sue and I have been collecting at the local shopping centre and at one of the hardware stores. Of course, I'm not going to just sit there and watch people walk past, I'll have a couple of projects with me to work on. The first couple of days have seen some good progress and here are the photos (we didn't get home until after dark so I had to take these photos in our living room under artificial light).

Woollen Baby Blanket
I worked on this one before we started collecting. I think I will have this finished in a couple of weeks.

Moogly CAL Square #10
I also did this one before we started collecting.

Trauma Teddy
I started this teddy a couple of weeks ago and only just got around to finishing the crocheting this week.

Trauma Teddy
This is last week's teddy which I crocheted on Monday.

Trauma Teddy
And this is this week's teddy which I crocheted today.

Tunisian Spiral Blanket
I also worked on this on Monday, having plenty of time after crocheting the trauma teddy.

Shy Butterfly Baby's Jacket
I even had time to work on this one today.

I think I have made good progress this week but there is still a week and a half to go before we finish with Red Sheild so I sure I will get plenty of crochet time during that period.

As usual, check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have been working on.

Richard.

PS. Oops, I forgot to take a photo of my manbag/tablet carry bag but it's late and I couldn't be bothered to take another photo so you will have to wait until next week to see that.

Friday FOs - 15.05.2015

I was expecting to post two weeks worth of FOs today but I didn't finish anything this week so you only get to see last week's FO.

Beanie in Blue and White
I'm continuing with the AFL beanies. This one is in North Melbourne Kangaroos colours.

I did make a start on this week's beanie but didn't get it finished.

Wednesday WIPs - 13.05.2015

First off, I would like to apologise for not posting my FOs on Friday and not letting you know that I wasn't going to be posting on Friday. I spent most of Friday in the car driving to Mudgee so didn't get much chance to take photos and didn't feel much like posting after the 8 hour trip. I will be posting this Friday (if I remember) so look out for that one as it will have two weeks of FOs (two beanies instead of one).

Because of the trip, and because I need to concentrate my efforts on an order, I have worked on many projects this week. Here are the WIPs that have progressed.

Child's Beanie
It doesn't look much like a beanie yet but that's because this particular pattern is worked flat. This is an order for one of the ladies at church who wants it for her son. so I do hope I'm making it the right size.

Moogly CAL Square #9
I wrongly call the last one #9 when it should have been #8. I don't know how I got the numbering wrong but I figured I should correct it as soon as possible. This was definitely an interest square to work on with plenty of texture.

Man Bag or Tablet Carry Bag
The second side is progress with the frame almost complete. I think I prefer the block lettering over the cursive but I'm not going to go back and change the other side now.

That's all the projects I have worked on this week. I hope to be able to work on others next week but I mostly depends on how quickly I can get the beanie one. It would be much quicker if I crocheted it as I quite a slow knitter but I think a knitted beanie is more suitable for a child as it will stretch as the child grows.

Be sure to check back on Friday to see what I have managed to finish and, as usual, check out the links in the sidebar to see what others have been working on.

Wednesday WIPs - 06.05.2015

It looks like I have been very busy this week, but it doesn't really feel that way. I have worked on most of my projects and even started a couple of new ones.  Here are all the projects that I have worked on.

Woollen Baby Blanket - motifs by Ellen Gormley
I managed to finish the last row of squares and start on the last row of octagons.

Sht Butterfly Baby Jacket
The first sleeve is growing slowly but it is growing.

Double Knit Butterfly side one

Double Knit Butterfly side two
I finished the first of my double knit squares.  I probably should have used a different colour as the butterfly doesn't show up really well.

Two Monkeys
One of the new projects is actually two. I have  had a couple of requests for these so figured I might as well make two at the same time.

Child's Beanie
One of the ladies at church wants a beanie for her son but didn't like the ones I had available so I'm making another.

Moogly CAL Square #9
I didn't get much of this done.  Hopefully I will be able to finish it before the next square comes out.

Tunisian Spiral Blanket
I had chiropractic and doctors appointments yesterday so brought out the waiting room project again. I made quite good progress.

Tablet Carry Bag
I decided to go with a change of font for the second side.

Trauma Teddy
This is my usual Craft'n'Cuppa project and I will get to finish some soon. I have a bag of parts that I made previously that just need to be put together.

That's it from me for this week. Be sure to check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have been working on.

Friday FOs - 01.05.2015

I seem to have been more productive this week as I have finished three items. Here they are!

Beanie in Brown and Yellow
These are the colours of Hawthorn AFL Football Club.

Beanie in Navy Blue and Red
These are the colours of Melbourne Football Club.

Koala
I finally got around to finishing this one. The ears are a different shade of grey because I ran out of the yarn that I was using.

That's it from me for this week. Be sure to check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have made.

Richard.

Just had to correct the team name on that second beanie. Wouldn't want to upset all them Demons and Bombers supporters.
