Friday FOs - 04.09.2015

I have managed to finish a few things this week, so, without further ado, here they are.

Murray of Athol Tartan Blanket
I think I have done enough on this so I have decided that it is finished.

Trauma Teddy #28 for 2015
Another week, another trauma teddy.

Shy Butterfly Baby Booties in DK
Now that I have made these I can get started on the 4 ply version.

That's it from me for this week. Be sure to check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have made.

Wednesday WIPs - 22.07.2015

It has been another slow week on the crochet front as I only worked on three projects.  In my defense, I did go away for the weekend. Here are this week's WIPs.

Story Blanket
One of the women at church asked me to make this for our Sunday School, also known as ASK (Albury Salvos Kids).

Murray of Athol Tartan Blanket
All the chains are done and woven in. I just need to sew in the ends and crochet the border and I will be able to call this one finished.

The other item that I have worked on this week is a trauma teddy which you will get to see on Friday. In the meantime, check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have been working on.

Wednesday WIPs - 08.07.2015

I have pretty much been working on the same projects this week as I did last week. I'm still trying to finish these off.

Tunisian Spiral Blanket
Sue had an appointment this week and needed me to drive her there and back so I spent some time working on this one.

Murray of Athol Tartan Blanket
I'm almost finished with the chains, only seven more to do before I sew in the ends and crochet the border.

Man-bag - side one

Man-bag - side two

Man-bag - top view
All this needs now is the closing flap and the shoulder strap which I will be crocheting.

That's it from me for this week, be sure to check back on Friday to see what I have finished. In the meantime, check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have been working on.

Wednesday WIPs - 24.06.2015

Today's post may make it look like I haven't been real busy but that is because a couple of the projects I have been working on are finished so you won't get to see them until Friday. Here are the projects that I have worked on that are still WIPs.

Murray of Athol Tartan Blanket
A few more chains have been made and woven in. I think it will be a few weeks before I get this one finished.

Man-bag
I'm almost finished with the cross-stitch part of this and will soon be ready to sew it up.

I have also worked on the Woollen Baby Blanket but only sewing in ends so it doesn't look much different than the last time I showed it. I will be continuing sewing in the ends for a few weeks before it is ready for blocking. I also started this week's trauma teddy but didn't take a photo. Hopefully you will get to see it on Friday along with my other finished object.

As usual, be sure to check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have been working on.

Wednesday WIPs - 17.06.2015

This week I have been trying to decide which of my projects are going to get priority as I have been reviewing where I want to go with markets and shows. Here are the projects that I have worked on this week.

Man-bag
This is going to be my main project for a little while, at least until it's finished.

Moogly CAL Square #12
I'm halfway through this CAL now with another 12 to go.

Trauma Teddy
I will be continuing to make these for the foreseeable future, at least until I'm told to stop.

Murray of Athol Tartan Blanket
I'm quite close to finishing this one so it is going to get priority over other projects.

That's it from me for this week. Be sure to check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have been working on.

Wednesday WIPs - 27.05.2015

It seems that Red Shield collecting has given me plenty of time for crocheting and knitting. I have managed to work on seven of my projects this week (not counting the trauma teddy that I started after taking photos). Here are the photos that I took this afternoon.

I'm going to show off Sue's current WIP first.

Sue's Tartan Carry Bag
Sue is finished the cross-stitch part of this project and has started working on the lining but hasn't progressed far enough to take a photo.

Woollen Baby Blanket
I only have a couple of octagons left to attach and then I will need to sew in all the ends.

Murray of Athol Tartan Blanket
It is now cold enough to have this one on my lap so I can continue working on it.

Tunisian Spiral Blanket
I have worked on this one a couple of times this week. It always seems to get a few people making comments.

Shy Butterfly Baby Jacket
The pattern for this calls for one of the sleeves to be made inside out so it probably looks like I'm working on the same sleeve I was working on last week but that is now on the other side.

Butterfly Square  (side one )

Butterfly Square  (side two )
I started the next square for my butterfly baby blanket.

Man-bag
I'm still working on this one and making good progress.

Two Monkeys
I have managed to make a bit of progress on these.

That's it from me for this week. Be sure to check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have been working on.

Wednesday WIPs - 29.04.2015

I feel like I have been a little more productive this week. I have worked on most of my projects and even managed to get something finished. Here are the WIPs that I have worked on this week.

Moogly CAL Square #9
I managed to finish this square except for sewing in the ends.

Tablet Carry Bag
I finished one side and started on the other. I decided to change the font on the second side.

Double Knit Butterfly square - side one
Double Knit Butterfly square - side two
I found time to do a few more rows on this.

Shy Butterfly Baby Jacket
I finally managed to start the first sleeve on this one.

Tunisian Spiral Blanket
This morning we needed to go to the pathologist for blood tests so I dragged out my usual waiting room project and managed to get another colour change done.

That's it for my projects, and now for Sue's.

Sue's Tablet Bag
Sue is making good progress on the second side of her bag.

Well, that's all from me for now, be sure to check back on Friday to see what I have finished. In the meantime, check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have been working on.

Wednesday WIPs - 22.04.2015

This week has been a bit slow onthe crochet front as I have been concentrating on cross-stitching on my new tablet carry bag. I have worked on a few things and here are the progress photos.

Moogly CAL Square #8
I made a start on the next square for the Moogly CAL but didn't get it finished. I should manage to finish it before the next square is due to be released.

Tablet Carry Bag
One side of the bag is starting to look like it's supposed to.

Tunisian Spiral Blanket
I spent a little time in a waiting room this week so this one came out of the bag. I wasn't in the waiting room for long so didn't get a lot done.

Trauma Teddy
I don't seem to have got much of this one done this week either.

Sue has been working on a few things also and wanted me to show them off.

Tablet Carry Bag
Sue has finished one side of her bag and started on the other.

Sock
Sue's feet have been getting cold as the temperature has been going down with the approach of winter so she decided that she needed some socks.

That's it for me for this week, be sure to check back on Friday to see if I have managed to finish anything. In the meantime, check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have been working on.

Wednesday WIPs - 15.04.2015

This has been another week where I haven't worked on as many projects as I would have liked. This is partly because I have been concentrating on the Man Bag and partly because of what happened while we were visiting my sister, her husband, my cousin and her husband. I did take some projects with me but ended up doing something else which you will find out about on Friday.

So, after all that has happened, I only worked on two WIPs this week and here they are.

I decided that, since I had finished one knit project, I should start another. I had been intrigued by double knitting and thought I would give it a try.

Double Knit Butterfly Square
If I'm doing this right, on one side a white butterfly will appear on a variegated background while on the other a variegated butterfly will appear on a white background. This first one is looking a little rough and I have already made at least one mistake but I am making progress and it does look like it is working the way it should. I plan on making enough squares to make a blanket but I'm not sure how big that blanket is going to be. I might stop at pram size.

The only other item that I have worked on this week that I haven't finished is the man bag.

Man Bag
I'm not sure that the 's' actually looks like an 's' but that's what it looks like on the pattern I'm using so I guess it will have to do. I could have used a different font but I quite like this one for the most part and I couldn't find that many that were an appropriate height.

Sue has decided that she should show off the progress she has been making on one of her bags so gave it to me this afternoon so that I could get a photo, so here it is..

Sue Second Tablet Carry Bag
I think that the tartan effect looks quite good. Sue seems to think that she hasn't allowed enough mesh for the gusset but she thinks she has a way to fix it. We will see haw that works out when she comes to it.

That's it for the WIPs this week. Be sure to check back on Friday to see what I have finished. In the meantime, check out the links in the sidebar toe see what other people have been making.

Wednesday WIPs - 08.04.2015

I'm still concentrating on getting drink bottle cosies and beanies in sports colours done but I have managed to work on other things as well. Here are the items that I have worked on this week that are still WIPs.

Moogly CAL Square #7 - Smooth Fox's Amethyst Square
This isn't the square that was actually chosen as #7 for the Moogly CAL but I didn't particularly like the one that was so I chose from one of the alternatives. I quite like the look of this one and it fits better with what I wanted to do with my blanket.

Moogly CAL Squares so far
These are all the squares that I have completed to date in some semblance of the positions that they will be in in the finished blanket. This placement may change as more squares are completed. Some observant people might notice that there are 8 squares here even though we're only up to square 7. I did 2 of square 1 because I wanted 25 squares instead of the 24 that are planned but didn't realise at the time that there were alternative that I could chose from for the extra one that I needed.

Tablet Carry Bag
I have been debating what I should put on the sides of this bag and ended up choosing to include my name. I'm not sure about this font as some of the letters look a little odd but it does look decorative.

Shy Butterfly Baby Jacket
I was a little surprised to see the colours in the sleeves match as I hadn't really tried to start the second sleeve at the same point in the colour repeat. Probably looks better than have mismatched sleeves though so I'm glad it worked out.

Trauma Teddy to be
I still haven't got the makings of the the last 3 Trauma Teddies back from the lady that is adding the sash to them and I haven't heard is she still wants me to give them to her flat. I guess I will keep doing them this way until I here otherwise.

Sue has decided that she was getting a ltiile bored with working in the same colour all the time so she started a second bag, this time in the colours of the Murray of Athol tartan.

Tartan Bag
One of these day Sue will actually get around to finishing one of the many projects that she has started unless I get sick of seeing them around the place and decide to have a go at finishing them myself (not that I don't have enough WIPs to work on at the moment).

Thinking about tartans, it's almost cool enough to think about getting the rug back out and finishing it off.

That's it from me for now. Be sure to check back on Friday to see my finished objects. In the meantime, be sure to check out the links in the sidebar and see what other people have been making.

Wednesday WIPs - 03.09.2014

Well, with my regular crochet time, time spent at a Baby Bazaar and taking Sue to see the doc, I have made plenty of progress this week and even started something new. Here is what my WIPs look like today.

Woollen Baby Blanket - motifs from Ellen Gormley's book
I decided to do a bit extra on this one this week as I only have a couple of months to get it finished, but then I got told I only had three weeks to get one of my other projects finished.

Baby's Jacket, Pants and Hat set
I managed to get the the pants to the point where I am ready to start on the legs before deciding to work on something else.

Rugby Pullover
And this is the something else that I decided to do. Since I have a bit of a shortage of boys stuff I figured that this would be a good place to start. I was a little surprised to see this variegated yarn working up in stripes but even more surprised when the stripes started going off at an angle. I'm not sure what changed there, I'm sure it's not my tension, but I may have to count stitches to make sure I haven't added or decreased.

Experimental Bear #1
I almost have this one finished but I don't think it's going to work for the final design. I still have the ears and facial features to do but I might leave them until I get the three bears that I need done in three weeks finished.

Experimental Bear #2
I think this one is a bit better but I'm still not sure is it will be one of the three I sell to my friend at church. I have one more design to try and I think the legs need to be shorter. I could probably take a few rounds off these before I attach them.

Murray of Athol Tartan Rug
I have added the next section of chains. It's now a matter of reversing the order of the first half of the rug.

Tunisian Spiral Blanket
I managed to get another colour change in while waiting for Sue to get called in to the doctor's office. I'm not sure when this will come out of the bag again.

The yarn eater is still waiting in my bag for another opportunity to come out but I'm in no hurry to work on it so it can keep waiting.

That's it for my WIPs this week. Be sure to check back on Friday to see what I have managed to finish this week, and check out the links in the sidebar to see what others have been working on.

Richard.
