Friday FOs - 02.01.2015

It's Friday once more and time to show off my last FOs for 2014. While I realise that this is my first post for 2015 these items were finished before the new year so qualify for last year.

Baby's Jacket, Pants and Hat set
I think the buttons might be a bit big for this set but they were the only ones I could find at the time. Since I finished this I have found the container that has a large quantity of sets of buttons that would probably have been more suitable but I'm sure these will do. They will just make it harder for the Jacket to come undone.

Trauma Teddy #66
This is the 48th Trauma Teddy for 2014.

That's it for 2014. Next week I hope to start showing off this year's FOs and tomorrow I hope to do a wrap-up of 2014 with a summary of all the items that I have made during the year.

Be sure to check out the links in the sidebar toe see what others have been making.

Wednesday WIPs - 17.12.2014

I have had another week where I haven't done as much as I would have liked, but I did more than last week. Here are all the projects that I have worked on this week (other than my weekly Trauma Teddy).

Baby's Jacket, Pants and Hat set
I managed to finish off the hat so now all I need to do is find some buttons and sew them on, stitch up the crotch of the pants and sew in all the ends.

Knitted Scarf
I managed to do a few more rows on this one.

Small Jug Cover
I started another jug cover.

There will be no Wednesday WIPs post next week due to the fact that we're going away for Christmas. Normal services will resume New Years Eve, for a couple of weeks at least.

Come back on Friday to check out the latest Trauma Teddy and check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have been working on.

Wednesday WIPs - 26.11.2014

Hello all,

It seems I have been getting quite forgetful lately. I took photos on Friday and then forgot to post them. I guess this means that you get a double dose this Friday. In the meantime, here are the WIPs that I have worked on this week.

Woollen Baby Blanket - motifs from Ellen Gormley's book
This blanket still has a bit of growing to do but it's getting there slowly.

Baby's Jacket, Pants and Hat set
I got up to the lace edging on the hat but didn't have enough yarn with me to finish it at the time. I think I might be able to finish this for next week.

Knitted Scarf
This scarf is still growing.

Koala
The body is finished, just need to make the ears, arms legs and nose and sew them into place along with the eyes. I was going to use safety eyes for this one but they are somewhere in the garage (I think).

That's it for the WIPs. I will try to remember to post my finishes on Friday but will make no promises. As usual, check out the links in the sidebar to see what others have been working on.

Wednesday WIPs - 19.11.2014

Well, I think I managed to work on at least one project everyday this week, which means that I have made progress on most of my projects. Here is what my WIPs looked like at 3:30pm.

Woollen Baby Blanket - motifs from Ellen Gormley's book
I finished the row of squares I was working on last week and started on the next row of octagons.

Baby's Jacket, Pants and Hat set
Finished crocheting the pants and started on the hat.

Knitted Scarf
Added a couple more pattern repeats to this one.

Boy's Rugby Jumper
Finished the front. Now I get to start on the sleeves.

Small Jug Cover
Started a new jug cover after finishing the own I started last week.

Tunisian Spiral Blanket
Finally managed to do enough on this one to make it worthwhile taking a photo. I ran out of the dark purple that I was using and just finished the block with the pale. I will need to go into the garage and see if I can find something suitable in there for the next time I need it.

Koala
Started a Koala to replace the one I sold recently. I couldn't find any grey for this (it's the wrong time of year for yarn shopping) so I went for a bone colour instead.

As you may have already figured out, I will have something other than a Trauma Teddy to show this week so check back on Friday to have a look. In the mean time, check out the links in the side3bar to see what others have been working on.

Wednesday WIPs - 12.11.2014

Well, it's Wednesday once again and time to review my progress for this week. While some of my projects are still languishing on the shelf since we moved others have been worked on and I am making good progress on them. I even started new projects this week.

Here is what my WIPs (those I worked on this week) looked like at about 3pm this afternoon.

Woollen Baby's Blanket - motifs from Ellen Gormley's book
I finished a row of octagon and stated on the next row of squares.

Boy's Rugby Jumper
I managed to progress on this up to the point where I need to divide to allow for the zipper.

Knitted Scarf
A couple more inches have been added to this one.

Baby's Jacket, Pants and Hat set
I almost finished the second leg.

Small Jug Cover
I also worked on a couple of jug covers, one of which is finished and this being the second. I need to make a few of theses and some large ones to make up for the ones I have sold recently and these are quite good projects to work on in the warmer weather.

I also added a few more rows to the Tunisian Spiral that I'm working on but I didn't think it was enough to show, and I worked on my weekly Trauma Teddy which will be finished in time for Friday's post.

That's it for the WIPs this week. Be sure to check back on Friday to see my FOs. In the mean time, check out the links in the sidebar to see what others have been making.

Wednesday WIPs 05.11.2014

I kinda feel that I have made more progress this week than I have the last couple even though I didn't do any crafting for two whole days. I did spend a bit of time at the show and worked on several projects while I was there, so, here are most of the projects that I have worked on this week.

Woollen Baby Blanket - motifs from Ellen Gormley's book
I managed to attach five octagons and make another which is now ready to attach.

Boy's Rugby Jumper
I added a few more rows to the front of this jumper.

Knitted Scarf
I added a couple more pattern repeats to this scarf.

Baby's Jacket, Pants and Hat set
And made a good start on the second leg of the pants for this set.

I also worked on Trauma Teddy #59 and a Wombat, both of which will be shown off on Friday.

While you are waiting to see my finished objects for this week feel free to check out the links in the sidebar to see what others have been making.

Wednesday WIPs - 15.10.2014

Another week has gone by and I'm still struggling to get into any sort of routine. I have had says this week when I haven't worked on any of my projects. It kinda like I have lost my mojo. If anyone finds it please send it back. I did manage to work on a few things this week while in waiting rooms, markets, etc so I do have some progress to show you.

I managed to finish a leg on a pair of pants.

Baby's Jacket, Pants and Hat set
And I managed to to finish the back of a jumper.

Boy's Rugby Jumper
I even managed to add a few rows to a beanie.

Knitted Beanie
A few octagons were add to a blanket but not as many as I would have liked to have done.

Woollen Baby Blanket - motifs from Ellen Gormley's book
I was hoping to have this finished in time for the Albury Show but I only have a couple of weeks left so I have abandoned that idea and will enter is next year.

I also rounded another corner on the Tunisian Spiral Blanket.

Tunisian Spiral Blanket
I haven't worked on this week's trauma teddy, the experimental bear that is almost finished, Christmas stocking and trees, the tartan rug or any of the other many projects that I could have been working on instead of playing games. I will get there eventually but I'm not in any real hurry.

If you want to see what progress other people have been making with their projects just follow the links in the sidebar.

Wednesday WIPs - 10.09.2014

I have had another slack week with working on my projects and actually took two whole days off. As a result of this slackness not all my projects got worked on. Here are the items that I have worked on this week but haven't finished.

Woollen Baby Blanket - motifs from Ellen Gormley's book
I managed to finish a row of octagons.

Baby's Jacket, Pants and Hat set
I have made most of the first leg of the pants.

Toddler's Rugby Pullover
The vertical striping is back and I still haven't figured out why it changed to the diagonal. You just can't tell how variegated yarn is going to work out until you get working on a project.

Two of the three bears
One is stitched together and is just awaiting facial features and the second is almost ready to stitch up. I will finish putting the second together and making the third before adding the facial features.

That's all my WIPs for this week. I will have at least one item to show on Friday but I think most people will guess what it is. In the meantime, check out the links in the sidebar to see what everyone else has been making.

Wednesday WIPs - 03.09.2014

Well, with my regular crochet time, time spent at a Baby Bazaar and taking Sue to see the doc, I have made plenty of progress this week and even started something new. Here is what my WIPs look like today.

Woollen Baby Blanket - motifs from Ellen Gormley's book
I decided to do a bit extra on this one this week as I only have a couple of months to get it finished, but then I got told I only had three weeks to get one of my other projects finished.

Baby's Jacket, Pants and Hat set
I managed to get the the pants to the point where I am ready to start on the legs before deciding to work on something else.

Rugby Pullover
And this is the something else that I decided to do. Since I have a bit of a shortage of boys stuff I figured that this would be a good place to start. I was a little surprised to see this variegated yarn working up in stripes but even more surprised when the stripes started going off at an angle. I'm not sure what changed there, I'm sure it's not my tension, but I may have to count stitches to make sure I haven't added or decreased.

Experimental Bear #1
I almost have this one finished but I don't think it's going to work for the final design. I still have the ears and facial features to do but I might leave them until I get the three bears that I need done in three weeks finished.

Experimental Bear #2
I think this one is a bit better but I'm still not sure is it will be one of the three I sell to my friend at church. I have one more design to try and I think the legs need to be shorter. I could probably take a few rounds off these before I attach them.

Murray of Athol Tartan Rug
I have added the next section of chains. It's now a matter of reversing the order of the first half of the rug.

Tunisian Spiral Blanket
I managed to get another colour change in while waiting for Sue to get called in to the doctor's office. I'm not sure when this will come out of the bag again.

The yarn eater is still waiting in my bag for another opportunity to come out but I'm in no hurry to work on it so it can keep waiting.

That's it for my WIPs this week. Be sure to check back on Friday to see what I have managed to finish this week, and check out the links in the sidebar to see what others have been working on.

Wednesday WIPs - 27.08.2014

I have made quite a bit of progress on my WIPs this week and even managed to turn one of them into a FO.

Here are all the items that I have worked one this week that won't be featured on Friday.

Woollen Baby Blanket
I managed to add four more octagons to this one on Friday morning then found that I still had a bit of time to spare so I worked on the tunisian spiral blanket also.

Tunisian Spiral Blanket
Managed another couple of colour changes.

Murray of Athol Tartan Rug
I have reached the halfway mark for weaving in the chains. Now I just reverse the pattern all the way to the end.

Dragon Scale Christmas Tree
I thought I might have a go at this one for a change of pace. I'm not following the pattern exactly but it is still looking quite good.

Experimental Bear
I started making the arms and legs but didn't get very far. I think I can get this finished for next week though.

Baby's Jacket, Pants and Hat set
I managed to add a few more row to the pants. still a bit to do before I start on the legs though.

That's all my WIPs for this week. Be sure to check back on Friday to see what items I have managed to finish this week. In the mean time, check out the links in the sidebar to see what everyone else has been working on.

Wednesday WIPs - 20.08.2014

When I went out to take photos of all my WIPs this afternoon I thought I had worked on all my projects this week but discovered that there was one that missed out, so it will have to be the first cab off the rank tomorrow. I also had a small problem when I went to crochet class on Friday. I forgot to take the project I wanted to work on so I had to work on something else instead.

Here are this week's WIP photos.

Tunisian Spiral Blanket
I hadn't intended to work on this this week but it was the only project I had in my bag at crochet class so I worked on it until I got to a point where I couldn't continue because I didn't have the colour I wanted to use next. I will have to make sure I have more colours available for the next time I get this out.

I then had the problem of what to do for the rest of the class so I started another new blanket.

Yarn Eater (Hungarian crochet) Blanket
This was one of those future projects that I had listed on the to-do list but was going to happen next year or maybe the year after. I still have so many other things that I want to get done but I just didn't have the yarn available at the time.

Woollen Baby Blanket - motifs from Ellen Gormley's book
This was the project that I had intended to take with me on Friday. I still managed to add 4 hexagons to it so it is still on track.

Murray of Athol Tartan Rug
I am almost half way with the weaving of the chains and it is starting to look more like a tartan each week. Still plenty of work to be done.

Toddler's Jacket - Zoom by Ellen Gormley
The second sleeve is almost done. I might even be able to finish this before next Wednesday.

Baby's Jacket, Pants and Hat set
I managed to start on the pants this week. The first few rows are always a bit fiddly as I crochet over the hat elastic but I'm past that now so the rest should make up fairly quickly.

As usual, this isn't all that I have worked on this week. I have managed to finish a couple of items so you can check back on Friday to see them. In the mean time, check out the links in the sidebar to see what others have been making.

Richard.
