Friday FOs - 08.06.2018

Another Friday post with two week's worth of finished items to show off due to my poor memory (I almost forgot about them tonight), and here they are, in the order that I completed them.

Large Jug Cover
This one doesn't sit flat because of a mistake I made in the first round but I don't think that will matter once it is put to use covering a bowl or jug.

Shopping Bag in Pouch
Shopping Bag out of Pouch
Someone gave me this metalic yarn and I though it would make a good shopping bag and this is the result.

Comfort Bear #22 for 2018
Last week's Comfort Bear.

Dishcloth #3
Another Dishcloth for one of the community centres that I teach at. This one is quite rough due to the number of knots in the yarn. Since it was only a dishcloth neither myself or the centre are really worried about how it looks.

Shopping Bag in Pouch
Shopping Bag out of Pouch
Another Shopping Bag. I don't think I have enough of these yet as I'm thinking of making some for my own use, especially since the major supermarkets are phasing out plastic bags.

Comfort Bear #23 for 2018
This week's comfort bear.

That's all for now. I hope to be more regular with my posts in future, but I'm not promising anything. Until next time, have a good one.

Richard.

Friday FOs - 05.01.2018

The first Friday of the year and I have two finished objects to show you. If you saw my Wednesday WIPs post you will probably already know what they are. Here they are.

Comfort Bear #1 for 2018
My first Bear for the year.

Large Cover #1 for 2018
And my first Jug Cover for the year.

That's all for this week. Talk to you again soon.

Richard.

Wednesday WIPs - 03.01.2018

This being the first Wednesday of the year I thought I had better find all my UFOs and show where thay are all at. I found nine projects in various stages of completion, not incuding the Comfort Bear that I started today. Here they all are.

Large Jug Cover
I had hoped to have this one finished by now but that was not to be.

Appliques
I have almost finished the last Heart. Once that is finished I will need to chose a pattern for the last four appliques. I'm thinking of an angel for the last four.

Tunisian Spiral Blanket
Just one more corner to negotiate, finish up the side then change to black for one more circuit and this will be done.

Corner-to-Corner Pixel Square.
Progress has been quite slow on this one since I have only been working on it at markets and I haven't been to many markets lately.

Double Knit Butterfly Blanket - side 1
Double Knit Butterfly Blanket - side 2
This is another that I only work on at markets so it hasn't seen a lot of progress either.

Story Time Blanket
This one is on hold until I finish the Appliques.

2016 CAL Blanket
I don't know why I haven't joined these yet. I will get around to it sometime this year.

Four Graduation Owls
These were still packed in a box until this afternoon. I didn't know which box they were in and it took a bit of searching to find them, but now that they're found, I will have to get them finished.

Hungarian Squares Blanket
I started this project just because I wanted to try Hungarian Crochet.

I have a lot of projects on the go and soon will have one more. One of my friends from church has asked me to knit him a beanie for which he has agreed to pay me $20. I probably cause myself a few problems but I never knock back a commision job.

I know this is quite a lot of projects to get finished but I'm sure I can get them done. Feel free to offer any words of encouragement you have to offer, they would be most appreciated.

That's it for now. I hope to have something finished for Friday, even if it is only a Comfort Bear.

Richard.

Friday FOs - 26.05.2017

Well, two weeks ago I didn't finish anything so didn't have anything to show, last week I had something finished, took photos, then forgot to post, so this week you get two weeks of finished.

Trauma Teddy #17 for 2017
The first one finished last week and still in Salvation Army colours.

Trauma Teddy #18 for 2017
I started this one on SES volunteer appreciation day so he is wearing orange in their honour.

Small Jug Cover
I think this is #4 for this year.

Trauma Teddy #19 for 2017
This is technically last week's bear but I didn't finish it in time for last Friday. I have started on this week but it's currebtly sitting on the table next to me waiting to be finished.

Jug Cover #5 for 2017
Jug Cover #6 for 2017
With these two jug covers I think I have enough small ones now so I will move onto medium size ones.

I still have a number of items that are close to being finished but they're still packed in boxes somewhere. I got news this week that the college I was studying through has gone into voluntary liquidation so I guess I will have a bit more time to sort things out and find all my projects now.

That's it from me for this week. I hope you all have a good one.

Friday FOs - 21.04.2017

Another week has passed and I have managed to complete twp more items. I don't think it would surprise anyone to know that one of those is a trauma teddy.

Small Jug Cover
Number 3 for this set of jug covers. I need to make a couple more at this size and then I will start on some larger ones.

Trauma Teddy # 14 for 2017
Someone this week suggested that calling these bears "Trauma Teddies" is a bit harsh. The suggestion was that, instead of naming it after what it's supposed to help with, we should, perhaps, name it for what it is supposed to do. To that end I have been thinking that they should be called "Comfort Bears" as they are to provide comfort to children going through trauma,

That's it from me for this week. I hope you all have a good week and I will be back next week.

Richard.

Friday FOs - 14.04.2017

Another week means another Trauma Teddy as well as a small jug cover, and here they are.

Small Jug Cover
I need to make a couple more this size before working on some a little bigger.

Trauma Teddy #13 for 2017
My CO has asked for a few bear in Salvation Army colours so you will see a few like this over the coming weeks.

That's it from me for this week. Haooy crafting until next week.

Friday FOs - 07.04.2017

Another week has gone and I have a couple of FOs to show this week, and here they are.

Small Jug Cover
Another Jug Cover to add to the stall. I think I'm going to be working on these for a while.

Trauma Teddy #12 for 2017
I'm still managing to finish one of these each week, even if they are a little later than I would like. This is last week's teddy. This week's still has a way to go before it's finished.

That's it from me for this week. I hope you all have a good one.

Richard.

Friday FOs - 24.03.2017

Well, I missed doing a Wednesday WIP post again this week, and I haven't finished this week's Trauma Teddy, but I did finish something, and here it is.

Small Jug Cover
At my last market I sold the last of my small jug covers. That combined with the fact that I only have one of each of the other two sizes means that I need to make more so other projects have been put on hold for a little while.

I still need to finish this week's Trauma Teddy and will do that some time this weekend so you will get to see it next week along with next week's teddy.

That's it from me for this week.

Richard.

Friday FOs - 01.01.2016

I funally got some things finished and have something to show for FO Friday, and here they are.

Trauma Teddy #47 for 2015
It has only taken about four weeks to get this one finished and it will be that last for 2015. I do hope that I can manage one a week for this year but I can't make any promises.

Jug Cover in Varegated Pink with mixed beads
The first of the projects for the lady in Wagga Wagga is finished.

That's all from me for this week. Be sure to check back on Monday when I hope to give you my 2015 wrap up. As usual, check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have made.

Wednesday WIPs - 23.12.2015

Now that I have finished the bags that were taking up most of my time I can start getting back to normal (if I can ever figure out what normal is). Although, after a visit to our cotton supplier, I now have three more commisioned items to worry about. Here are the objects that I have worked on since last Wednesday.

Moogly CAL Square #23
I finally got around making this square. Just one more square to go before I figure out the layout and join them all together. Technically, I should have finished this CAL a couple of weeks ago but other things got in the way and now I have the heat of summer to contend with. Maybe this can wait a little while longer.

Tunisian Bamboo Stitch Beanie
I know I have my regular waiting room project but I decided to take this with me to work on while I waited for the dentist to take care of my wife's teeth. I got it to 7" and stopped there while I figure out if I'm going to try and shape it or just follow the pattern, continue until it measures 9" and then just gather it all together. Somehow, I think following the instructions in the patter might be easier.

Tunisian Spiral Blanket
I did eventually get this one out and added a few more rows. Not a lot of progress but some anyway.

Jug Cover
This is the first of the commissions that I need to work on. The cotton and the beads all came from the ladt that commissioned these.

That's it from me for now. Hopefully i will have something finished for Friday but I make no promises. In the meantime, check out the links in the sidebar to see what others have been working on.

Friady FOs - 09.01.2015

In spite of the heat that we have been having here I have managed to a bit of crocheting and have enven managed to finish a couple of items. Here are my finished objects for this week.

Small Jug Cover
Another small jug cover to add to the stall. I think I need one more of these and then I need to make a few large ones.

Trauma Teddy #1 for 2015
I know I showed you one of these last week but this is the first that was actually made this year.

There will be no Friday FOs next week due to Sue and me being away from home, celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary. Everything should return to normal (whatever that is) the following week. I may post some of our holiday pics next week, in the mean time, I'm sure there will be plenty to see if you follow the links in the sidebar.

Wednesday WIPs - 31.12.2014

Another year is coming to an end but before that happens I need to show off what I have been working on over the last couple of weeks.

Before Christmas I managed to make a couple of arms for the Koala.

Koala.
I also managed to add a few rows to the jug cover that I had started.

Small Jug Cover
While I was away visiting my sister, her family and others I did a bit of knitting on the scarf.

Knitted Scarf.
I took some baby yarn with to work on a baby jacket but when I checked the pattern that I wanted to use it was for 8 ply (DK) and I had brought 4 ply so I did a bit of mental arithmetic and started anyway. I did the yoke before deciding to stop until I got home where I had some 8 ply baby yarn that I bought in Ireland. I made the yoke in the 8 ply and checked it against the 4 ply version and found that my math was spot on.

Shy Butterfly Baby Jacket in 4 ply.

Shy Butterfly Baby Jacket in 8 ply

The 4 ply version sitting on top of the 8 ply version for a size comparison.
I didn't expect to get so close with this as I really didn't think I was that good at judging these things.

That's it for my WIPs this year. Be sure to check back on Friday to see my last finished object for the year and again on Saturday for the year in review.

As usual, check the links in the sidebar to see what others have been making.

Richard.

Wednesday WIPs - 17.12.2014

I have had another week where I haven't done as much as I would have liked, but I did more than last week. Here are all the projects that I have worked on this week (other than my weekly Trauma Teddy).

Baby's Jacket, Pants and Hat set
I managed to finish off the hat so now all I need to do is find some buttons and sew them on, stitch up the crotch of the pants and sew in all the ends.

Knitted Scarf
I managed to do a few more rows on this one.

Small Jug Cover
I started another jug cover.

There will be no Wednesday WIPs post next week due to the fact that we're going away for Christmas. Normal services will resume New Years Eve, for a couple of weeks at least.

Come back on Friday to check out the latest Trauma Teddy and check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have been working on.

Richard.
