Friday FOs - 08.06.2018

Another Friday post with two week's worth of finished items to show off due to my poor memory (I almost forgot about them tonight), and here they are, in the order that I completed them.

Large Jug Cover
This one doesn't sit flat because of a mistake I made in the first round but I don't think that will matter once it is put to use covering a bowl or jug.

Shopping Bag in Pouch
Shopping Bag out of Pouch
Someone gave me this metalic yarn and I though it would make a good shopping bag and this is the result.

Comfort Bear #22 for 2018
Last week's Comfort Bear.

Dishcloth #3
Another Dishcloth for one of the community centres that I teach at. This one is quite rough due to the number of knots in the yarn. Since it was only a dishcloth neither myself or the centre are really worried about how it looks.

Shopping Bag in Pouch
Shopping Bag out of Pouch
Another Shopping Bag. I don't think I have enough of these yet as I'm thinking of making some for my own use, especially since the major supermarkets are phasing out plastic bags.

Comfort Bear #23 for 2018
This week's comfort bear.

That's all for now. I hope to be more regular with my posts in future, but I'm not promising anything. Until next time, have a good one.

Richard.

Friday FOs - 25.05.2018

After taking a photo of my finished objects last week I then forgot to post them so I have two weeks of finishes for you this week. This week I managed to finish 5 items thanks to time spent collecting for the Red Sheild Appeal. Here are all my finished objects for the last tow weeks.

Comfort Bear #20 for 2018
Another sparky bear, this time the sparkles actually show up in the photo.

Beanie in Collingwood Colours

Beanie in Collingwood Colours dispayed on a head.

This is my third attempt at getting this beanie the right size.

That's last week's finished objects, now for this week's.

The first of three Plastic Bag Holders
The second of three Plastic Bag Holders
The third of three Plastic Bag Holders
These plastic bag holders may become obsolete in the next month or so as the big supermarkets phase out plastic bags but I figure I had sold a few and needed to replace them so I have.

Comfort Bear #21 for 2018
I have gone back to standard colour combinations for this week's comfort bear.

Dishcloth #2 side 1
Dishcloth #2 side 2
For the second dishcloth that I have made for Springdale Community Centre I have gone for a Crochetknit version which gives a double sided effect.

That's it for now, until next time, have a good one, and if you see someone collecting for charity, please give generously, especially if it's for the Salvation Army.

Friday FOs - 27.04.2018

I have managed to finish a few more items this week, and here they are.

Comfort Bear # 17 for 2018
I'm still keeping up with my target of one bear per week.

Graduation Owl 3 of 4 - front view
Graduation Owl 3 of 4 - side view
I had oportunity to finish this one this week and took it. I don't know when I will get the oportunity to finish the last but I hope to have it done soon.

Wash Cloth
I was asked to make a few of these for one of the community centres that I go to to teach crochet so expect to see more in the not too distant future.

That's it from me for this week. I don't know that I will have this many items to show you next week but I will try. Until next time, have a good one.

Friday FOs - 05.08.2016

I finally managed to remember to post my finished objects, so now you get three week's worth of FOs.

Trauma Teddy #22 for 2016
This Teddy was finished three weeks ago.

Trauma Teddy #23 for 2016
This is last week's Teddy.

Dishcloth #2 side 1
Dishcloth #2 side 2
Other than a few mistakes here and there and the fact that my tension doesn't seem to be completely even, I think this worked out quite well. I should probably take some measurements so that I can work out the true ratio of rows to stitches in case I decide to try this again.

And last, but not least ...

Trauma Teddy #24 for 2016
This week's Teddy.

That's it from me for this week. Be sure to check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have made.

Wednesday WIPs - 27.07.2016

It is time, once again, to show my progress with my WIPs. Here are the incomplete projects that I have worked on this week.

Story Time Blanket
Again, I only worked on this on Friday morning so not a lot of progress.

Moogly CAL 2016 - Block #10
Another block to add to this year's blanket, but I'm still 5 blocks behind.

Experimental Dishcloth - side 1
Experimental Dishcloth - side 2
This  experiment is almost at an end and I would have finished this week if it hadn't been for a new project that I started.

Size 13 Slippers
I have been asked to maked a pair of slippers for a man with size 13 feet. I'm hoping to use the lessons that I learnt while making my own.

This is all I have to show you today. I must apologise to anybody that was expecting to see a post on Friday. I did take a photo but I forgot to post it. Hopefully I will remember this week and you will get to see two week's of finished objects. Until then, be sure to check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have been working on.

Friday FOs - 15.07.2016

Since I didn't write a post last Friday you get two week's worth of finishes instead of one this week. Here are all the items that I have finished in the last two weeks.

Experimental Owl #4
The largest of mu owls so far. I think the positioning of the eyes might be a bit off but I think I have pretty much settled on the design. I won't be publishing a pattern for this as I'm pretty sure someone else already has.

Experimental Dishcloth #1
I quite like this effect but I don't think this technique could be used for anything subtle.

Trauma Teddy #20
Last week's Trauma Teddy.

Trauma Teddy #21
This week's Trauma Teddy.

That's it from me for this week. Be sure to check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have made.

Wednesday WIPs - 13.072016

Well, we made back home safely after a weekend away. The trip back was quite wild as there was quite a bit of rain and wind around. I only took small projects away with me and here they are.

Moogly CAL 2016 - Block #8
I managed to f]get another block done but I'm still 6 blocks behind. I could catch up quicker if I did two blocks each week but I've got plenty of time.

Crochetknit Picture Dishcloth
This is my second attempt at colour-work in crochetknit (double-ended Tunisian). While this may not be my neatest crocheting effort I am learning more about how this technique might work. It's definitely not a 1 to 1 ratio between rows and stitches. More like 1 to 1.5. I don't think I could do a proper picture like a butterfly or flower using this technique but I may try it on a larger scale.

Future WIPs
Not so much a WIP as a stash enhancement. I recent won a draw for a $30 voucher from Bubs2Grubs and this is what I sellected to spend my money on. I figure I can make a few toys or trauma teddies from this lot.

That's it from me for now. Be sure to check back on Friday to see what I have finished in the last couple of weeks. In the meantime, check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have been working on.

Wednesday WIPs - 29.06.2016

Time to show what I have been working on this week. Here are the projects that I have worked on that are still WIPs.

Striped Dishcloth
This one is almost done, which is a good thing since I'm almost out of the variegated pink.

Tunisisn Spiral Blanket
Story Time Blanket
I'm still making good progress on this blanket although it will still take me a while to finish.

I spent a bit of time in waiting rooms yesterday so I got this out and added a couple more blocks.

While writing this post I realised that I forgot one project, my Moogly CAL blanket. I guess I'll have to show you this week's block next week.

As usual, check back on Friday to see this week's finished objects and check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have been working on.

WIP Wednesday - 22.06.2016

I have been concentrating on one project this week although I did secumb to a bit of startitis. Here are the WIPs that I have worked on this week.

Moogly CAL 2016 Block 5
I quite liked making this square but I not sure about the colours. These where the closest I had to the colours used by the designer and I have elected to use the designers colours for all my blocks.

Owl
Another attempt at an owl. I expect to have a parliament soon.

Wash Cloth in Double Ended Tunisian
This is an attempt at doing colour work in doble ended tunisian. The colour changes aren't as defined as other techniques but the colour changes are still visible.

Story Time Blanket
This has been my main project this week. Since I have finished other major projects, and I have been working on this one for so long, I figured I would try and get this one finished as soon as possible. A little bit more and people might be able to see what the picture is, but I'm not going to tel you what it is.

That's it from me for now, be sure to check back on Friday to see what I have finished, and be sure to check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have been working on.

Richard.
