Friday FOs - 29.06.2018

I have plenty of FOs to show you this week, especially since I forgot to post last week. Here are the objects that I have finished in the last two weeks.

Octopus #2
One of the ladies at church is a Collingwood Magpies aupporter and she saw the first octopus I made and asked for one in black and white. I had been given this yarn and figured it was suitable for the task.

Octopus #3
This one will be added to the collection to be given to a premie baby.

Comfort Bear #25 for 2018
Another bear ready for service.

Graduation Owl #4
I started making these about 18 months ago to see if I could get 4 made in a couple of weeks because someone had asked if I could do it. Unfortunately, I didn't get back to them in time for them to put in a firm order but I kept making them anyway. I think I could have finished them within two weeks if I had put in the effort but I too many other things that I was working on at the same time.

Green Sheep #2
Here's the green sheep for the community centre that I go to on a Thursday afternoon.

Octopus #4
Aother octopus ready for service.

Comfort Bear #26 for 2018
And yet another bear ready for service.

I think that's enough for this week. Until next time, have a good one.

Richard.

Wednesday WIPs - 27.06.2018

I think it is about time I showed some progress photos. Here are some of the items that I have worked on recently.

Bootees for a Sunhat and Bootees set
I'm not sure that I need any more bootees for my stall but I don't have any Sunhat and Bootees sets at the moment and they were at the top of my to-do list.

Green Sheep
This is the third green sheep since I started making these. The first went to my sister to be given to my great niece whose favourite book is "Where's the Green Sheep", the second is finished and ready to be photographed before being given to the local community centre (they read this book to the kids sometimes) and this one will be added to my shop. I plan to make other coloured sheep as weel but seem to be stuck on green ones at the moment.

Story Time Blanket
Only two more strips and the border to go on this one then it will be time to sew in the ends and embroider a verse of scripture into the blank area before I call it done.

Tunisian Sprial Blanket
I am now working on the black edging. Once that's done I will sew in the ends and call it done.

I have also been working on joining the squares I made for the 2016 Moogly CAL but didn't remember to take photos. Maybe if I remember next week you will get to see it.

I did take photos of my finished objects last Friday but forgot to post them. If I remember this week I will post them along with this week's finished objects.

That's it for now, until next time, have a good one.

Richard.

Friday FOs - 15.06.2018

It is time to show everone this week's finished objects, and here they are.

A Green Sheep
This is the first of many sheep of all different colours. This one will be going to my sister for when she reads to my great niece who's favourite book is "Where's the Green Sheep". I have already been asked to make another one of these for one of the community centres where I teach crochet.

Octopus #1
I went to Spotlight's Knit in Public day last Saturday and picked up a pattern for this one. The idea is to make these for premie babies so that they have something to hold on to. Apparantly, the curly-cues are similar to the umbilicle cord.

Comfort Bear #24 for 2018
Amother comfort bear ready for service.

That's it from me for this week. I hope to be back next Friday with more FOs. Until then, have a good one.

Richard.

Friday FOs - 08.06.2018

Another Friday post with two week's worth of finished items to show off due to my poor memory (I almost forgot about them tonight), and here they are, in the order that I completed them.

Large Jug Cover
This one doesn't sit flat because of a mistake I made in the first round but I don't think that will matter once it is put to use covering a bowl or jug.

Shopping Bag in Pouch
Shopping Bag out of Pouch
Someone gave me this metalic yarn and I though it would make a good shopping bag and this is the result.

Comfort Bear #22 for 2018
Last week's Comfort Bear.

Dishcloth #3
Another Dishcloth for one of the community centres that I teach at. This one is quite rough due to the number of knots in the yarn. Since it was only a dishcloth neither myself or the centre are really worried about how it looks.

Shopping Bag in Pouch
Shopping Bag out of Pouch
Another Shopping Bag. I don't think I have enough of these yet as I'm thinking of making some for my own use, especially since the major supermarkets are phasing out plastic bags.

Comfort Bear #23 for 2018
This week's comfort bear.

That's all for now. I hope to be more regular with my posts in future, but I'm not promising anything. Until next time, have a good one.

Richard.
