Wednesday WIPs - 01.01.2020

I thought it would be a good idea to start the new year by showing off all my WIPs, so here they are.

A Comfort Bear in the making
This is what this week's comfort bear looked like a 3:00pm. I don't normally show these on Wednesday as I am confident that I can complete it before Friday But thought I might as well include it today.

A Shopping Bag with Pouch
Another bag to add to the collection. This one probably won't be finished by Friday but the one I started last week is so I do have a bag to show off on Friday.

Two Purple Sheep
Two heads, 8 legs and half a body done so far. I doubt if I will get these finished in the next couple of days.

Lounge Chair Cover
I only work on this on Friday evenings after I have posted my finished objects for the week. Most weeks I don't seem to have any time to work on it at all.

Story Time Blanket
Reverse side of Story Time Blanket
This is a project I started a few years ago for the Sunday School kids. I mostly work on this on Friday mornings while at crochet class so it's in time out now due to no classes and being too hot to work on. In the first photo it looks pretty mush done but a close look at the second reveals all the ends yet to be sewn in. I also plan on embroidering a Bible verse in the blank area next to the cross.

Corner to Corner Pixel Blanket
This is one of two projects I work on while at markets. I'm still trying to work out the best way of avoiding having so many ends to sew in. The top left square was my first attempt and there are far too many ends.

Double Knit Butterfly Squares - side one
Double Knit Butterfly Squares - side two
This is the second of the two projects I work on while at markets. I'm still kinda learning the technique and hve recently seen a video on how to cast on for double knitting. Myabe I will try it for the next square.

Hungarian Crochet Squares
This is my 'waiting room' project. I seem to spend quite a bit of time in waiting rooms (might be because of my age) and I need something to work on because I'm not really into reading magazines.

Short Rows Knitted Scarf
This is another project that goes pretty much every where I do but only comes out when I'm bored with everything else. I made one of these in Tunisian Crochet and thought I would try a knitted version.

Sunhat and Bootees
While this is a UFO I'm not sure that it qualifies as a WIP as I don't really have any incentive to finished it. Baby clothes just don't seem to be selling at the moment. It seems that the current generation of parents just aren't interested in putting their kids in handmade clothing.

I should probably check my to-do lost (posted on Monday) to see if I managed to find all my unfinished objects (or make sure they're all listed) but these are the ones that I did find.

That's it for now. Until next time, have a good one.

Richard.

Wednesday WIPs - 02.01.2019

It's the start of a new year and I thought I should start the year by showing the status of my WIPs. These are all bar rhe comfort bear and blue horse that I hope to have finished for Friday.

Story Time Blanket
I'm currently working on the border. Once that is finished, I will need to sew in all the ends and embroider a bible verse in the blank area.

Tunisian Sprial Blanket
All the crocheting is done on this, I just need to sew in all the ends.

Corner to Corner Pixel Squares Blanket
This is one of two projects that I have been working on while at markets. I have almost finished crocheting the second square but still have lots of ends to sew in on the first.

Double Knit Butterfly Squares - side 1
Double Knit Butterfly Squares - side 2
This is the second of the projects that I have been working on while at markets. I think I have one quarter of the squares that I need for the full blanket.

Knitted Short Rows Scarf
I started this as an experiment to see if I could do a knitted version of the Tunisian Short Rows Scarf I made a few years ago. I will eventually get around to continuing work on it.

Yarn Eater Squares Blanket
I decided to try this as I had never done it before. Now it's kinda waiting while I get some more of the toys that I'm making finished.

Baby's Sunhat and Bootees in Yellow
One more item from my to-list getting ticked off. I still have a set in white to do once this set is done.

I think that's all of my WIPs. There may be more hiding in one of the boxes that I haven't unpacked yet.  I know I have at least one tartan blanket that my ex-wife wants me to finish, but it will have to wait until I clear some of these other projects.

That's it for now. Until next time, have a good one.

Wednesday WIPs - 11.07.2018

I managed to get some photos of some items that I have worked on this week, and here they are.

Sunhat and Bootees
The bootees are made, just need the loose ends sewn in and ribbons threaded through, amd the sunhat has been started.

Knitted Short Rows Scarf
After doing one of these in Tunisian Crochet I thought I might try a knitted version. I don't know how long this ine is going to take me as I will be doing whenever I can kinda fit it in, at least until I finish some other items.

Chihuahua Coat
I'm not entirely sure that this design is going to work, I'm just kinda winging it. I don't even have something I can try it on to see if it is going to work.

That's it from me for now. I don't actually have anything finished at the moment but I hope to finish a couple of items tomorrow. I will have to see how I go.

Unitl next time, have a good one.

Friday FOs - 17.06.2016

It has been a good week for finishing things this week with four items completed, and here they are.

An Owl
This is my second attempt at making my own owl and I think I have got it right this time.

Tunisian Short Rows Scarf
This one will be going in the show later this year. I hope they don't confuse it with knitting.

Baby Blanket
Another of Sue's projects that I finished for her. Now I will have to see what other projects I can finish for her.

Trauma Teddy #17
Anothr week, another trauma teddy.

That's it from me for this week. As usual, check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have made.

Wednesday WIPs 01.06.2016

Well, it's time to show what I have been working on this week. I still haven't got back to my regular crafting schedule having only worked on 4 of my projects. Here are the 3 that are still WIPs.

Story Time Blanket
This one seems to go so much quicker when I don't have to keep consulting the pattern.

Moogly CAL 2016 Block 2
I'm catching up slowly, althoug it doesn't really seem like on the weeks that the new block comes out. I'm still 9 blocks behind.

Tunisian Short Rows Scarf
This is still my main go-to project since it is so repetative I don't have to think about it too much.

I do still have this week's Trauma Teddy to finish off but it should be finished by Friday so check back then to see if I have been successful. In the meantime, check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have been working on.

Wednesday WIPs - 04.05.2016

Happy Star Wars Day everyone, I hope you had/are having a good one.

I have only worked on four of my projects this week and only have two to show you today. You will get to see the other two when I next do an FO Friday post. Here are my WIPs for this week.

Tunisian Short Rows Scarf (Geo by Kim Guzman)
I frogged my first effort due to too many errors and it wasn't looking particularly good. I have gone up a couple of hook sizes and been a little more careful to make sure I'm getting the correct stitch, especially the first one.
 T
Tunisian Spiral Blanket
A short period in a waiting room so I got this one out and got to another change of colour. Not a lot of progress but progress none the less.

As I intimated at the start of this post, there will be no FO Friday post this week or WIP Wednesday post next week due to us moving. I don't know when I will resume posting but it shouldn't take long to get settled.

Until my next post just keep checking the links in the sidebar to see what other people are working on.

Richard.

Wednesday WIPs - 27.04.2016

I haven't worked on as many of my projects as I would have liked to but the ones I have worked on have seen good progress. Here are some of the projects that I have worked on this week.

Rose Pixel Blanket - square 1
I think I need to investigate this technique a bit more to see if there is a way to carry the yarn from one row to the next and reduce the number of ends. I'm not looking forward to sewing in all of them.

Tunisian Crochet Short Rows Scarf
With all the projects that I have on the go I still went and started another. I wanted another Tunisian item to put into the show later this year since that is one category that I have a good chance of winning.

Moogly CAL Blanket 2015
I started putting last year's Moogly CAL Blanket together. I will be starting this year's CAL shortly, even though I am already 8 blocks behind.

I also worked on the Story Time Blanket (finished one column and started the next) and the white baby blanket (not that you would be able to tell) but didn't take photos of them because I kinda forgot about them until I went to write this post.

Hoepfully, I will get something finished for Friday so do come back and check. In the meantime, check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have been working on.

Friady FOs - 10.04.2015

Hi everyone and welcome to another post where I show off what I have finished this week.

The first item I finished this week was a drink bottle cosy.

Drink Bottle Cosy in Fremantle Dockers Colours
I still have a few more AFL teams to work through before I start on the NRL teams.

The next item was a beanie.

Beanie in Essendon Bombers Colours
The next thing I finished was one that I have been working on for quite a while, a knitted scarf.

Knitted Scarf.
When I was at my sister's place at Christmas my brother-in-law indicated that he would like a drink bottle cosy for himself but he didn't indicate what colour he would like, and since we're headed back that way this weekend (a cousin is visiting from England so we thought we should take the opportunity to meet up again) I though I should do one for him. I found some variegated blue that I thought would be suitable and got it done.

Brother-in-law's Bottle Cosy
I'm still waiting to hear from the lady at church about these Trauma Teddies and will get around to finishing them when she gives them back to me so I expect to have a bunch of them to show you all at once.

That's it from me for this week. Be sure to check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have made.

Wednesday WIPs - 01.04.2015

This week I have had my schedule interrupted by a death in the family. As a result, things that I had hoped to get done just didn't get done as we needed to get to Sydney yesterday. That meant getting on a train at 11:25 pm on Monday night, arriving in Sydney at about 7:00 am on Tuesday, spending the day with family and friends and getting another train at 8:30 pm that night, arriving back home at about 4:30 am this morning. It was a long day!

We also have an issue with our garage door which, if I hadn't been so tired this morning when I parked the car, I might have thought a bit more about and wouldn't have effectively locked the car in the garage. Hopefully the guys that fitted the remote control system will be able to help tomorrow.

In the meantime, here are this week's WIPs.

Tablet Carry Bag
I have made a bit more progress on the carry bag for the tablet that we currently have on lay-by.

Woollen Baby Blanket - motifs from Ellen Gormley's book
I managed to most of the last row of squares. This one will probably hibernate for a few weeks as crochet class is having a break.

Knitted Scarf
Just one more repeat of the pattern and I will be ready to cast off on this one and then start looking to start my next knit project.

Tunisian Spiral Blanket
While I was on the train back from Sydney I had a bit of time to sort out the yarn in my bag and do a bit more on this before lights out.

That's it from me for this week. I hope you all have had a better week than me. Check back on Friday to see what I have completed since last Friday. As usual, there are links in the sidebar you can use to see what other people are making.

Wednesday WIPs - 25.03.2015

It has been another busy week here at Rose Manor and, while not all projects have been worked on (it's still too warm for at least one of my projects), progress has been made on most of them.

Here are the WIPs that I have worked on this week.

Shy Butterfly Baby Jacket in 8 ply
I finished the first sleeve and started the second. It shouldn't be too long now before I have this finished.

Woollen Baby Blanket - motifs from Ellen Gormley's book
Almost finished the penultimate row of octagons on this one.

Knitted Scarf
This one is getting close to being finished. Just another couple of repeats of the pattern and it will be as long as I am tall (which is how I measure scarfs).

Koala
This is another item that I have almost finish. I actually ran out of the grey I was using so the ears are a slightly different shade, and I was sure I had made the nose but I can't find it now so I will have to make another one. I think I will have this finished by next week.

Moogly CAL Square # 6
I decided that I should do more 2 colour squares because my first square was done in 2 colours.

Trauma Teddy # 11 for 2015
We're still working out whether it's going to be easier to sew tags on these while they're flat compared to when they have been made up. I'm sure I will get to finish some soon.

My Tablet Carry Bag
Since we're getting new tablets soon (they're currently on lay-by) we thought we would need a better way to carry them around so we each decided to make something that would be quite robust with room for more than just the tablet. I think this one will be big enough to take my music books and some other paraphernalia.

Sue has decided not to join the pieces of her bag until after she has cross-stitched over the rest of it first.

Half of Sue's Tablet Bag
Sue has also made more progress than me because she has been spending all her time on this and not working on all her other projects.

That's it from us for this week. I will have something to show on Friday so be sure to check back then. In the meantime, check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have been working on.

Richard.
