Monday Mayhem - Themalicious

There aren't many themes I can join in on but March Madness is one I can relate to. While I may not have worked on a different project each day of the month, I did work on quite a lot of projects.

Here are all the items that I finished in March.

And here are the items that I'm still working on.

There have been a couple of hanging towels done in the last couple of days and some of these WIPs have been worked on including one that is now finished, but I haven't taken any photos of them yet so you will have to wait until later in the week to see them.

Is this madness or would some of you think that this is normal?

Friday FOs - 28.03.2014

Another week has gone and I have a special treat for you today. Not only my finished items but one fresh off Sue's needles.

And here they are.

Shopping Bag # 3

Shopping Bag # 4
I think that will be enough shopping bags for a little while. We will just have to see how the they do at the markets.

Trauma Teddy #29
This is my 13th Trauma Teddy for this year.

That's what I have finished this week, not for Sue's finished object.

Baby Boottees
I didn't even know she was knitting these as the only things I have seen her working on lately are a baby's jacket and a magic square blanket.

As usual, check out the links in the sidebar to see what everyone else has been making.

Wednesday WIPs - 26.03.2014

Well, there has been plenty of time for crocheting this week, especially with a 4 and a half  hour wait at the hospital yesterday (I'll tell you about that later). Unfortunately, the weather was quite miserable today and it was too wet to take photos outside, so the photos are a bit off colour and some are a bit blurry (it's hard to keep the camera still while it compensates for the lack of light).

Here are the WIPs I have worked on this week.

Murray of Athol Tartan Rug
I managed to do a couple of rows on this one.

Cheval Set - large doily
I also managed a couple of rows on this one.

Woollen Baby Blanket using Motifs from Ellen Gormley's Book
I managed to do 4 motifs this week.

Toddler's Jacket - Zoom by Ellen Gormley
The second sleeve is growing.

Clara the Friendly Robot
This one is almost finished and should be finished within the week.

Shopping Bag with Pouch
I know I said I wanted to make three of these at this time and this is number four but I figured an extra one wouldn't hurt. As soon as this one is finished I will need to get onto the towels and get as many of them done as possible as I have four markets in the next four weeks.

Tunisian Lace Wrap
This is the item that I took to the hospital with me. I managed to get about 16 rows done in the time I was waiting for my turn to go into theatre.

That's all my progress for this week. Come back on Friday to see what has been finished in Rose Manor since last Friday. In the mean time, check out the links in the sidebar to see what everyone else has been making.

Saturday Shenanigans - 22.03.2014

This week has definitely had its ups and downs. Most of the downs came from my college work. I almost threw in the towel this week and gave up on it because it just seems so hard. I don't know whether it's that I'm not getting the classroom interaction or that the work is quite difficult but it got to me this week.

On the up note, I seem to be flying through my crochet at the moment even though I'm not giving it as much time as I was before I started this course. I actually managed to finish 4 items this week, two of them were long term projects. This probably means that I will only be finishing smaller items over the next few weeks and you will have to wait a while for the larger items to get finished, but I might be able to start a new project this week.

We heard from the people that are going to be motorizing our garage door. They're coming in next Friday to do the job so it looks like I will be spending some time rearranging things so that they have room to work. I'm not sure when I will find the time or the energy to do that.

On another note, I will be going in to hospital for day surgery this week so that will take another chunk of my study time. I just don't know how I'm going to get anything done this week with all the interruptions.

Well that's it for me this week. I hope you all had a good one.

Richard.

Friday FOs - 21.03.2014

Hi everyone, I have had quite a busy week but not only did I manage to find time to do some crafting I managed to finish several items. I did have a problem taking the photos today as it was a bit damp outside, so I had to take my photos indoors and the colours aren't quite right, but here they are.

Shopping Bag with Pouch
I ran out of the main colour that I was using and ended up making the handles in white. It seems that one 50gm ball of cotton isn't quite enough to make a complete bag.

Baby's Jacket, Pants and Hat Set
This set is now finished and ready for sale. I have a couple of balls of a DK Tivoli Baby yarn that I picked up in Ireland so now I will have to see what patterns I have that I can use that on. We still have plenty of this orange yarn left also (it was originally Sue's yarn).

AustralianaV2 - designed by me
This was actually my first attempt at this on but, after spilling cherry juice on it, it wasn't going to be good enough to enter into the show, show I put it on hold while I completed a clean version. This has now been bleached and washed and it has come up quite well. There is still a slight discolouration in the wattle blossom but it is barely noticeable. I suppose the next thing to do with this is to write up some sort of pattern and put it up on Ravelry.

Trauma Teddy # 28
My 12th Trauma Teddy for the year.

That's it from me. As always, check out the links in the sidebar to see what everyone else has been making.

Wednesday WIPs - 19.03.2014

There has been a reasonably amount of progress on my WIPs this week with a couple of items being moved to the "done" pile. There has been more progress on some things and less on others but I have managed to work on most my projects this week.

Here is what they looked like this afternoon.

Woollen Baby Blanket
I managed to do a couple of motifs on this of Friday morning. I probably could have done more decided to move onto something else.

Cheval Set
I managed a couple more rows on this, the largest of the 3 doilies that make up the set. It's always a bit of a worry at this stage because it doesn't sit flat, but I'm sure it will flatten out once it's finished.

Toddler's Jacket - Zoom by Ellen Gormley
I have started on the second sleeve.

Clara the Friendly Robot
The body is finished.

Mesh Shopping Bag with Pouch
This is number three. Number two was finished on Sunday and number four will probably be started on Friday or Saturday.

Tunisian Lace Wrap
We have been to a couple of waiting rooms this week so I have had a bit of time to spend on this. I think it's my turn to go in for procedures next week so there will be more waiting rooms to work in.

Murray of Athol Tartan Rug
This is one that I'm taking over from Sue. We aren't sure where the pattern got to but it appears to be just past the half way mark so it should just be a matter of reversing the stripes of colour.

I still have to find time to do a bit of college work, especially since I have an assessment due on Sunday, but I'm sure I will still find time to crochet.

Check back on Friday to see what has been finished this week. In the meantime, check out the links in the sidebar to see what everyone else has been making.

Saturday Shenanigans - 15.03.2014

This week has been quite eventful with trips to the doctor and other testing facilities. Sue's shoulder has been giving her trouble to the point where she is having difficulty with the simplest of tasks. Last week I took her to the doctors and to for x-rays and ultrasound, this week our first outing was to the chiro to make sure everything was in place then back to the doctor so he could get a piece of her (a punch biopsy) for testing. At this point in time the diagnosis is a frozen shoulder and she needs to go back to the ultrasound place to get an injection.

Fortunately, other than the odd dizzy spell (vertigo can be quite nasty) and a rash in my nether regions (a week of hot days seems to do a bit of damage), my health has been pretty good.

On the crafting front, everything is moving along although I did run into a small problem this evening. I can't seem to find a container of buttons that I know I have around here somewhere. I'm sure they will show up eventually but I made need to make a trip to the shop to buy some so I can finish the jacket that needs finishing.

I am having a few issues with my study and I'm starting to think it may be too hard doing it through distance ed. I need to confer with my fellow students and then I need to write reports which is something that I'm not good at at all.

I didn't have any markets today so it has given me a chance to try and catch up with things although there is still plenty of things to catch up on. I have managed to have a look at my to-do list and make adjustments based on what I'm currently doing and what I've completed recently so here it is.

Things to make to replace stock for my market stall:

Bottle Cosies in more team colours
Teapot Cosies
bag holders
Hanging Towels
Small Bunny

Current Work In Progress:

Toddlers Jacket
AustralianaV2
Trauma Teddies
Baby's Jacket, Pants and Hat Ensemble
Tartan Blanket – taken over from Sue
Tunisian Lace Wrap
Doily from an old pattern book I bought
String bags
Woollen Baby Blanket using Motifs from Ellen's book
Robot

Things I'm itching to get started on:

Crochenit Knee Rug (same as Cot Blanket and will also use up some of my stash of 8ply)
Crocheted Slocks
Banner for Stall
Table Runners for each Australian state and territory (currently trying to design the ACT one).
Tunisian Crochet Intarsia Table Runner

Dinosaurs (bought the patterns from PlanetJune)

There is still quite a lot on there even though the "market stall" and "itching to start" sections have shrunk a little.

That's about it from me for this week. I hope you all had a good one.

Richard.

Friday FOs - 14.03.2014

Well, it's that time of the week again, time to show you what I have finished since last Friday and you get to see what's been slowing done my WIP progress this week.

Here they are.

Trauma Teddy #27
This is number 10 for this year. I don't expect to get 52 done this year but it would be nice.

Shopping Bag in a Pouch
This is the project that I have been spending my afternoon crafting time on. I need to get at least three of these done ready for April which looks like it might be a big month for markets.

That's all my FOs for this week. Check out the links in the sidebar to see what everyone else has been making.

Wednesday WIPs - 12.03.2014

Hi all. I hope you're all having a good week. I've changed my crafting regime slightly this week after noticing that I was running low on certain items for the craft stall. This week, I concentrated on making those items that I desperately need in the afternoons and my WIPs in the evenings so not all my WIPs progressed.

Here are the WIPs that have progress this week.

Tunisian Lace Wrap
This is still my go-to project for when I'm sitting in waiting rooms, and with Sue's shoulder getting some treatment it seems that I've spent quite a bit of time in waiting rooms.

Woollen Baby Blanket
I only managed one motif at crochet class this week but I did manage to sew the first three together and did all this while helping a student, so I don't think I did too bad.

Toddler's Jacket - Zoom by Ellen Gormley
The first sleeve is all but done (again), just need to sew up the seam.

Cheval Set
So far I've managed to complete 20 rounds of the larger doily in the set. At least I didn't have to rip back any rounds this week.

Knooked Scarf
I started this on Saturday morning while at the markets. I will probably only work on this while at the markets, at least until I have caught up with all the other items I need to make.

AustralianV2 - designed be me
Another 8 rows have been added to this with 7 rows left to do. I should be finished the crocheting of this with the next session.

Baby's Jacket, Pants and Hat set
All the crocheting is now done on this set. Just the sewing in of the ends, stitching up the crotch and sewing on the buttons and it will be done.

I have picked out the next of Sue's projects that I'm going to take over which is a tartan rug in the Murray of Athol colours. Those that were following our trip around the UK may remember that we visited Blair Castle while in Scotland, that this is that ancestral home of the Murray of Athol clan and that Sue is related to them. All I need to do is make sure my tension matches hers and that we can find the pattern.

That's it for my WIPs this week. Be sure to check back on Friday for my FOs and also check the links in the sidebar to see what everyone else has been making.

Richard.
