Friday FOs - 27.02.2015

The end of another week and I have a similar set of finished objects as I had last week.

Here they are.

Drink Bottle Cosy in St Kilda colours

Drink Bottle Cosy in Collingwood Colours
Two more drink bottle cosies in AFL team colours. I still have quite a few teams to go.

Trauma Teddy #7 for 2015
I still have some knitted ones to sew up but I haven't finished them yet.

Wednesday WIPS - 25.02.2015

My WIP count is down this week even though I feel that I have been just as productive as last week. I have made a couple more drink bottle cosies and my trauma teddy for this week is well under way (check back on Friday to see those). My biggest problem has been the square for the Moogly CAL which I worked on this week, it was complicated.

Here are my WIPs for this week.

Thursday afternoon, after finishing last week's trauma teddy, I decided to work on the Shy Butterfly Baby Jacket in 8 ply.

Shy Butterfly Baby Jacket in 8 ply
I only got a couple of rows done and I intended to work on it over the weekend but that didn't happen.

At Friday morning crochet class I worked on my latest woollen baby blanket while trying to teach my student (yes, there was only one) the edging she was trying to do for a doily she had. We decided that she should try and practice the stitches she needed for the doily on something that needed a thicker cotton as it is very difficult to get tension right on longer stitches while working in 40 cotton for the first time. I did still manage to added a few octagons to the blanket anyway.

Friday afternoon I started on the latest square for the Moogly CAL that I had decided to join at the beginning of the year. I only picked up the pattern that morning and had hoped that I could have it finished that evening. I finished it Sunday evening. One reason I joined this CAL was that it looked like it might challenge me, I just didn't realise that part of that challenge was going to be interpreting the pattern. This square was quite a challenge, especially the edging.

Moogly CAL Square #4
This square has turned out a little bigger than my other squares and I'm not sure how that is going to work out when it comes time to sew them all together but I'm hoping that blocking will take care of most of the differences and it will all work out in the end. Other wise, I may have to do more of this square and make a blanket just using this pattern.

That's it from me until Friday. As usual, check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have been working on.

Friday FOs - 20.02.2015

As I said on Wednesday, this has been quite a productive week.

After last week's market it became clear that there were a few things that needed to be given priority. Of those things, the bottle cosies seemed to be the easiest to get started on straight away as I was sure I could complete one in a day. To that end I started work on the first one, trying to remember how many increases I did (I knew I should have written that down) I selected the colour for the Richmond Tigers AFL team.

Richmond Tigers Bottle Cosy
This one turned out a little big as I think I made too many increases, but that's OK as these will probably be used more for stubbies or can which, I believe, are slightly bigger than the water bottles we have around here.

Having made the first one a little larger than it needed to be I changed the yellow for red, which gives the colours for another AFL team (Essendon Bombers), and tried again.

This one also turned out a little larger than it needed to be but now I know the correct number of increases.

Sue saw what I had been working on and decided that she needed a new bottle cosy as her old one had stretched to the point that is was falling off her bottles, so I picked up a ball of yarn that contained her favourite colour and got to work.

Sue's New Bottle Cosy
I still had time to work on a few other projects including this week's Trauma Teddy.

Trauma Teddy #6 for 2015
This one will be headed off to church to join all the others that are being made.

That's it for me for this week. Check the links in the sidebar to see what other people have made.

Wednesday WIPs - 18.02.2105

I actually feel like I have been productive this week. I have three FOs, will have a fourth before Friday, and I have worked on most of my WIPs. Here are the items that I have made progress on this week.

On Friday I added a couple of octagons to my woollen baby blanket.

On Saturday, while at Ettamogah Pub Markets (a new one for me), I finished the first sleeve of the boy's jumper.

Boy's Rugby Jumper
I also managed a repeat of the pattern on my knitted scarf.

Knitted Scarf
On Sunday I made the first of my FOs and worked on the body of my Koala.

On Monday I made two more of the FOs and finished the body of the Koala.

Koala
Yesterday I finished the body of the Shy Butterfly Baby Jacket in 4 ply but then had a problem, I don't know what adjustments I need to make to the pattern to do the sleeves.

I figured it would be easier to figure how to adjust the pattern for 4 ply if I did the 8 ply version first, but that meant finishing off the body of the jacket, so I got it out and got to work.

I still have a bit to go before I finish the body on this one so the 4 ply version will have to take a back seat for a while.

Today I worked on this week's Trauma Teddy and I hope to have that finished tomorrow.

I will still have something to show on Friday so check back then to see what I have made. In the meantime, click on the links in the sidebar to see what other people are working on.

Friday FOs - 13.02.2015

I have been quite a bit more productive this week than previous weeks and have finished the Koala, however, it seems my memory is still on the fritz as there was something I forgot to add to Wednesday's post. I have included it here even though it isn't technically a finished object.

Moogly CAL Square #3
It is a finished square but it is part of a larger project.

I still can't find my safety eyes so it looks like all my toys will have embroidered eyes for the time being. I think they look just as good and they are actually safer than the safety eyes anyway.

Trauma Teddy #5
Having done 48 of these last year I'm on target to do the same this year.

That's it from me for this week. Check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have been making.

Wednesday WIPs - 11.02.2015

I think I have made a bit more progress this week. It helped that crochet classes are back and the blanket is making progress, and I had markets on Saturday so I had a bit of time there to knit and crochet. But before I show you what I have made progress on I am going to show you what Sue is currently working on.

Pram Blanket with diamonds
She has had a few issues with this and had to restart it because she was making too many mistakes but it seems to be going OK now.

And now for my WIPs.

Woolen Baby Blanket
I managed to finish one row of squares and start on the next row of octagons.

Shy Butterfly Baby Jacket in 8 ply
I added a couple more rows to this one while watching people walk past my stall.

Knitted Scarf
I knitted one full repeat of the pattern, also while watching people walk past my stall.

Koala
I finished one Koala and started another.

Shy Butterfly Baby Jacket in 4 ply
I even found time to add a few rows to this one.

Tunisian Spiral Blanket
Sue wasn't feeling well yesterday so we ended up at the doctors and I had some time to work on this. Unfortunately, I didn't put the next colour in my bag so I had to abandon it when it became time to change colours.

I also worked on the yarn eater blanket but found a mistake in a previous row (it's so hard to remember to put 12 stitches in the corners instead of 8) and had to rip it out and redo it so there was no real progress made on it.

That's it from me for now. Be sure to check back on Friday to see my finished objects. In the meantime, check out the links in the sidebar to see what others have been making.

Friday FOs - 06.02.2015

Well, I didn't get the Koala finished this week but it is so close to being finished I'm sure it will be ready for next week. In the meantime, here is this week's Trauma Teddy.

Trauma Teddy #4 for 2015
The lady that I give these to wanted me to do a bit of shaping around the neck so I found a way to pull the stitches a little tighter in that area.

Wednesday WIPs - 04.02.2015

This has been another week where I haven't achieved all that I planned to achieve. I only have 3 projects that I have worked on this week, one of these will be shown on Friday. Here are the other two.

Shy Butterfly Baby's Jacket in 4 ply
I have had plenty of trouble with this again this week, having to rip out a couple of rows a couple of times before I got them right. I was obviously not in the right frame of mind and was kinda forcing myself to things done. I'm hoping that things will improve when the weather cools down but that won't be for a while yet.

Koala - designed by Planetjune
I managed to get the ears and nose done and started to sew him together. He is definitely taking shape and will be finished soon.

This afternoon I started on this week's Trauma Teddy and hope to get it finished tomorrow. If I can get it finished with a bit of time to spare I may be able to finish the Koala as well, but don't hold your breath.

As usual, check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have been working on.
