Friday FOs - 27.03.2015

It's the end of another week and time to show what I managed to finish this week.

I have continued with making bottle cosies in AFL team colours. This week it is the Adelaide Crows.

Adelaide Crows Drink Bottle Cosy
I also decided that I should probably do beanies to match all the drink bottle cosies that I have done so I started with the simplest one, Carlton.

Navy Blue Beanie.
I haven't finished any bears this week as I am waiting for them to come back from the lady that sews tags to them.

Wednesday WIPs - 25.03.2015

It has been another busy week here at Rose Manor and, while not all projects have been worked on (it's still too warm for at least one of my projects), progress has been made on most of them.

Here are the WIPs that I have worked on this week.

Shy Butterfly Baby Jacket in 8 ply
I finished the first sleeve and started the second. It shouldn't be too long now before I have this finished.

Woollen Baby Blanket - motifs from Ellen Gormley's book
Almost finished the penultimate row of octagons on this one.

Knitted Scarf
This one is getting close to being finished. Just another couple of repeats of the pattern and it will be as long as I am tall (which is how I measure scarfs).

Koala
This is another item that I have almost finish. I actually ran out of the grey I was using so the ears are a slightly different shade, and I was sure I had made the nose but I can't find it now so I will have to make another one. I think I will have this finished by next week.

Moogly CAL Square # 6
I decided that I should do more 2 colour squares because my first square was done in 2 colours.

Trauma Teddy # 11 for 2015
We're still working out whether it's going to be easier to sew tags on these while they're flat compared to when they have been made up. I'm sure I will get to finish some soon.

My Tablet Carry Bag
Since we're getting new tablets soon (they're currently on lay-by) we thought we would need a better way to carry them around so we each decided to make something that would be quite robust with room for more than just the tablet. I think this one will be big enough to take my music books and some other paraphernalia.

Sue has decided not to join the pieces of her bag until after she has cross-stitched over the rest of it first.

Half of Sue's Tablet Bag
Sue has also made more progress than me because she has been spending all her time on this and not working on all her other projects.

That's it from us for this week. I will have something to show on Friday so be sure to check back then. In the meantime, check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have been working on.

Friday FOs - 20.03.2015

OK, I have finally remembered to post pictures of my FOs. Since I forgot to do it last week you get two week's worth this week.

Here are the items that I finished last week.

Bottle Cosy in Navy Blue and Red
This one is for Melbourne Demons fans.

Bottle Cosy in Yellow and Brown
And this one is for Hawthorn fans.

Knitted Trauma Teddy #2 for 2015

Trauma Teddy #9 for 2015
And now for this week's finished objects.

Bottle Cosy in Red, White and Blue
This one is for all the Western Bulldogs fans

Bottle Cosy in Grey, White and Orange
Any Greater Western Sydney fans out there? This one's for you.

Knitted Trauma Teddy #3
I still have one more knitted teddy to make up and this week's crocheted teddy will me put together after the lady that puts the tags on has tried her little experiment.

That's it from me for this week. I will try to remember to take photos at more appropriate times (see Wednesday's post) and post in a timely manner next week. Until then, don'e forget to check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have made.

Wednesday WIPs - 18.03.2015

I have been getting quite forgetful lately. I forgot to post my FOs on Friday, so you will get a double dose this Friday (if I remember), and I forgot to take photos of the WIPs this afternoon and ended up taking them with the flash this evening. Can anybody get me a memory upgrade?

Here are this week's WIPs.

Woollen Baby Blanket - motifs from Ellen Gormley's book
I managed to get some octagons made and attached in between trying to teach a little old lady how to add to a granny square blanket.

Boy's Rugby Jumper
I finished the second sleeve. Now all I need to do is sew all the pieces together, crochet the collar and sew on the zip.

Knitted Scarf
I have had a bit of trouble with the yarn getting tangled so I started on a new ball but I didn't match up the colour repeats very well. I don't think it will make much difference to the final product but I still have quite a bit of the first ball to sort out. Just to make life a little more difficult, it's a mohair/wool/acrylic blend.

Shy Butterfly Baby Jacket
The body is now done and it's time to work on the sleeves. The first sleeve is worked inside out for some reason but who am I to question the designer.

Koala - designed by Planetjune
The legs are now done. I just need to make the ears and nose, sew it all together and embroider the eyes and it will be ready for sale. I ould really like to spend more time making toys but there are so many other things that I need to make.

Trauma Teddy
I don't normally show the makings of my Trauma Teddies but the person that I give these to has requested that I give her one flat. She sews a label onto the bears and wants to see if it's any easier this way.

That's it for the WIPs this week. I will try and remember to post my FOs on Friday but I can't promise anything. In the meantime, check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have been making.

Wednesday WIPs - 11.02.2015

Ia m a little late with this this week as I kinda forgot about it last night but I figure it's still Wednesday for quite a few people that will read this so it's not too late.

Here are the items that I have worked on this week that are still WIPs.

Woollen Baby Blanket - motifs from Ellen Gormley's Book
I managed to finish a row of squares.

Square #5 for the Moogly CAL
I wasn't sure about doing this in a single colour but I think it worked out OK.

Tunisian Spiral Blanket
A bit of time spent in waiting rooms meant that this one was brought out again.

That's it for the WIPs that I have worked on. Everything else that I have worked on this week will appear in Friday's post (if I remember to put it up in time) so check back then. In the meantime, check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have been working on.

Friday FOs - 06.03.2015

I'm still working on bottle cosies and trauma teddies and have a couple of each to show off this week. Here they are.

Bottle Cosy in Geelong Colours

Bottle Cosy in North Melbourne Colours
I'm still working my way through the AFL teams. I should have a full set in about 5 weeks, then I will have to decide whether I want to make a second set so that I have two of each.

Knitted Trauma Teddy #1 for 2015
I received a bag of squares a few weeks ago but haven't had much opportunity to sew them up and make them look like bears. I hope to get them all done over the next few weeks.

Trauma Teddy #8 for 2015
I'm going to keep the count of the knitted teddies separate from the crocheted ones as I didn't do all the work on the knitted ones.

That's all I have for this week. Check out the links in the sidebar to see what other people have been making.

Wednesday WIPs - 04.03.2015

I haven't done as much this week as I would have liked to but I still got quite a bit done.

Here is some of the items that I have worked on this week.

Woollen Baby Blanket - motifs from Ellen Gormley's book
I managed to finish a row of octagons and start on the next row of squares. A couple more rows of octagons and it will be time to sew in all the ends. I'm not really looking forward to that.

Knitted Scarf
This was one of the projects that I took with me to the Baby Bazaar. The other was the Boy's Jumper.

Boy's Rugby Jumper
I got most of the second sleeve done. I would have finished it if I hadn't started it with the wrong hook. It will be ready for sewing up soon.

Shy Butterfly Baby's Jacket in 8 ply
I have almost finished the body. Soon it will be time to start on the sleeves.

Koala - designed by Planetjune
I thought I had better work on this one this week since I didn't work on it last week. I managed to get the arms done. Just the legs, ears and nose to go and then sew everything together. Should be finished in a couple of weeks.

That's all from me for this week. Come back on Friday to see the other things I have worked on. As usual, check out the links in the sidebar to see what everyone else has been making.
