Holiday Diary - Day 65

Today we revisited Whitby, but this time we had more than 15 minutes to explore.

Here are some of the photos we took today.

Looking north from West Cliff

Looking East from West Cliff

Captain Cook
The plaque on this side was provided by the Australian people, the one on the back was from Canada, on the other side is a plaque from New Zealand. On the front is a general plaque describing Captain Cook and his exporitory expeditions.

The following is a panorama taken near Whitby Abbey on top of the hill to the east of Whitby. It includes the abbey and the town.

The outside of Whitby Station

A church on the hill near the abbey

The house where Captain Cook lived while doing his apprenticeship.
Tomorrow we will surprise the folks at Middlesbrough Citadel by paying them another visit. We may also revisit Captain Cook's birthplace.

Richard.
